Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsAcknowledgedTown Square Pl & Washington Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The WaterfrontThis intersection is especially dangerous in both directions for multiple reasons. We've come dangerously close to hitting pedestrians and being sideswiped by other drivers on numerous occasions. The pedestrian crossing from the mall to the PATH is on a diagonal, meaning that pedestrians cross along a very long area but with little respite in the median due to the large exhaust tower and tall grasses in the way; they're often walking along the curb or running out quickly in front of drivers since they have nowhere else to go. What's more is that there are cars stopping suddenly on both sides of the street to pickup/drop off passengers. Finally, the exhaust tower and grasses are super dangerous for driver sight lines when driving south, and for pedestrians attempting to cross from the median toward the mall. I go through this intersection very slowly and still have to frequently slam on my brakes or veer quickly into the other lane.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedSteuben St & Warren St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
I am writing to address the high risk intersection of Steuben St and Warren St. As a frequent pedestrian at this location, I'm concerned about the safety, and accessibility for the large number of pedestrians that move through this intersection daily. I believe the following issues should be addressed:
- Visibility is compromised by parked cars along Warren St, posing risks to pedestrians crossing the road.
- High-speed vehicular traffic on Warren St further endangers pedestrians. I regularly see vehicles traveling at excessive speed in an attempt to make the yellow light on Columbus.Given the need to improve safety while having a minimal impact on through traffic, I would like to propose the following solutions:
- Implementation of a raised pedestrian crosswalk (speed table crosswalk) to slow down traffic and enhance pedestrian safety.
- Consideration of appropriate warning signals, or stop signs.I urge you to prioritize this matter and take decisive steps to improve pedestrian safety at this critical intersection.
Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedMallory Ave & Pollock Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - West Side
They are speeding every night. And they also speed late at night waking us up from our sleep.
Second, the sport auto body shop on Mallory Ave and Pollock ave, they parkt their customer cars on the bicycle lane, and sometimes they even double parking on Mallory Ave. It blocks my sight when I am driving, especially when I make a turn. they park their customer cars everywhere on the street, giving the residents a hard time to find a parking at all times.
I think we need some signs such as quiet zone sign and permit parking for the area around Mallory Ave. the city must have come up with any law or rule about the auto shop that parks their customer cars on street all day and even overnight. that is affecting the residents' lives. or at least out permit parking sign around here so we can have parking when we get home from work or on our day off.
and please they are speeding everyday no matter it's day or night.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledged373 Monmouth St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
The Monmouth Ave redesign added three parking spots instead of adding a loading zone. Now delivery trucks just double park blocking the right lane. This causes congestion and tons of noise from honking as cars make an unexpected lane merge from 2 down to 1.
Make those spots a loading zone.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsAcknowledgedEge Ave & Mallory Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - West SideThe intersection of Mallory and Ege needs better care for both pedestrians and cars coming out of ege onto mallory. Poor visibility from cars exiting ege and turning either left or right threatens pedestrian, cyclist and drivers safety. Corner of Ege and Mallory is visually blocked most of the day and the evening. Many requests have been made but City Traffic & Engineering folks must not be doing their studies from 8am-10am 12-3pm or 4-6pm because thats when traffic is at its worst. Pls see a solution put in place for this. TY

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedBowers St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsI have been almost hit by two different vehicles (and then verbally assaulted by the drivers) while walking along summit and crossing bowers with a walk signal (east side of the intersection). The drivers clearly believe they have the right of way at this intersection despite the walk signal. Can you install a Yield to Pedestrians sign or make the pedestrian right of way more obvious?
