  • Highland Ave & Olney St Watertown Town, MA, 02472, USA - Watertown

    Please finish this corner.

The work here is completed except for 1 pavement square. The site is currently used to dump excess concrete and use the porter potty for workers.

We are already 2 months under construction. Last summer we were under construction for 6+ months. The people of Olney and Highland streets don’t deserve to be left to a second summer of construction disruption.

There seems to be a glitch in this reporting system that won't allow my second image to show. The image(of the upper drain) in the original report is only 1/2 of the issue. There was a second photo of the downstream drain. As seen in the second, downstream image, this pavement diverted water flow will not be picked up by the next drain because the next drain is also affected by poor pavement slope. The water flows past both drains and is then subsiding into the cracked and broken pavement on Wilson Ave at the base of the hill. Again, this is not a question of, "Is this a problem?", it is instead a question of, "What kind of quality work are we spending our Tax dollars on?" and "Since this was done recently, what kind of warranty did we get on this work so that we can exercise that Warranty before it expires." There is a civic duty to be fiscally responsible when spending tax payer money. This work should not have been approved for payment. These crews have large tanker trucks of non-potable water and can easily test their work for proper water flow.

The new temporary speed bump is too high. We can hear cars drive fast and hit the bottom of their cars. It’s loud and disruptive especially at night. Please lower it.

A construction co came and dug up the sidewalk in front of my house today at 1pm 4/30/24. Spoke to one of the workers and he said they needed to locate the water pipe. Said they would fill in the hole with gravel until they re-locate the pipe and repave that section of the sidewalk. They didn't fill it with gravel and left it as is in the picture so people walking by can trip and fall. This is inexcusable and irresponsible. Please contact me at 617-319-9236 to let me know when I can expect it to be fixed.

Sidewalk is missing a needed sidewalk cement panel. Looks like the town had initially removed it to access a water pipe (?) but never repaved the panel.
