  • 4300-4314 22nd Ave S Saint Petersburg, Florida, 33711 - St. Petersburg

The traffic light at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 43rd Street South is extremely poorly timed. The light on 22nd Ave S turns red far too quickly, often every 30 seconds, and holds up traffic on one of the area’s busier roads. This happens even when there are no vehicles waiting on 43rd St S, making the stop completely unnecessary and frustrating for drivers.

This isn’t just a mild inconvenience, it creates congestion, slows down traffic flow, leads to aggressive stops, and drivers running the light red completely. All of this could be avoided with more efficient signal timing. It’s especially frustrating during peak hours when 22nd Ave S has significantly more traffic volume than 43rd St.

Please review and adjust the timing of this light so that it better reflects actual traffic patterns. Drivers should not be sitting at a red light for no reason while no one is even crossing. This intersection needs updated programming or sensor calibration before it creates more unnecessary delays, or worse, an accident.

traffic lights out of sync on 1st avenue and South
  • 7300 Sunshine Skyway Ln S Saint Petersburg, Florida, 33711 - Greater Pinellas Point Civic Association
Between 7300 and 7310 Sunshine Skyway Lane there is a row of Palm trees that are across the street on City land. The Palm trees need to be trimmed so they are not blocking the lighting on the three poles and also so the Power lines are not disturbed. As it is now the trees have grown into those power lines. We hope to keep the trees and not take them down just need them trimmed back to allow the lighting to be more exposed.
