  • 336 Ferncliff Ave Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
I live at 125 Ferncliff Ave Unit E-344 (3rd floor). Diamond Parking light #40 located at the entrance to the Ferry Terminal building on pole #SLAH6975 violates outdoor lighting code 18.15.040. High Intensity light shines up and into my bedroom & living room. Flood light shines up not down and is it is not shielded. I have attempted to resolve this with Diamond Parking, B.I. Ferry Terminal Supervisor and B.I. Public Works without success. This floodlight also shines into the public park & heritage trees at Harbor Square. Very annoying
  • 5191 Taylor Ave Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
New neighbors on corner of Taylor and Ronald have erected a fence within public right-of-way on south side of Ronald Ct. and possibly on Taylor Ave as well. Also looks like they have been filling in drainage swale on south side of property. Area is very wet for 9 months of the year and this could cause hydrologic/flooding problems for their house as well as nearby homes.
  • 5191 Taylor Ave Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
Fence on Taylor and Ronald erected by a non-licensed contractor. Workers' truck had no markings and owners are unwilling to discuss.
  • 11143 Rolling Bay Walk Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island

Has everyone forgotten about the mudslide of 1997 that killed four people on Rolling Bay Walk?

Todd Cunningham was the building inspector a couple of years ago. He drew up a map of Rolling Bay Walk identifying the homes that were yellow tagged. This map appears to be lost somewhere within the building department.

This past summer several people were looking for the information on yellow tagged homes on RBW, this included a Realtor. The file could not be found.

Several homes were sold on Rolling Bay Walk this year. I believe these homes are yellow tagged and the buyer was not informed of this. For those who don't know what "yellow tagged" means, here it is (as to my understanding). Because of mudslide danger the home can not be lived in during the rainy season (starts in October?)

The long time residents, who know their house is yellowed tagged, move out of their home for the winter and live elsewhere.

May this be the year of rain?

  • 12520 Manzanita Rd Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 - Bainbridge Island
A new structure was built behind the main house into the hill. No permit is listed on the city's website. There is also a new float placed in the bay out in front of this property.

Fencing across creek, wetlands, critical areas.
  • 4759 Lynwood Center Rd Ne Bainbridge Island WA 98110, United States - Bainbridge Island
Two very large signs have been installed at Lynwood Commons development One is along Baker Hill Road the other on Lynwood Center Are these signs to code for allowable signage?
  • Harbor Square Loop Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 - Bainbridge Island
Light intrusion violation. These lights shine directly into the the NW condos at Harbor square from the BLIS condos along Cave Ave. Residents are complaining that they come on at dusk and remain on until dawn, filling the North facing units of Harbor Square with unwanted light.
  • 14235 Sunrise Dr Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 - Bainbridge Island
Fence posts and caps are between 7.5' and 8.0' high. We hoped they would finish the fence by cutting the posts to fence heights as is normal but instead they have placed fancy caps on top of the illegally height posts.
  • 4950 Blakely Ave Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 - Bainbridge Island
A recently sold house seems to be cutting down a lot of trees, probably more than allowed by the city. PLEASE look into this soon. The tree company is there again today. Also, the person who quickly flipped the house took down trees before it was sold.
  • 2200-2354 Fort Ward Hill Dr Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
I nearly lost my dog tonight. We were walking along the road as we usually do and a car was going well over the posted speed limit of 25 mph. Seemed to be 40 mph and didn't even slow down when they came to us. They were right on the fog line and I had to yank my dog and jump into the ditch. If you want to enforce speed limits you need traffic calming measures in place. 99 % of the time no one travels this strip of road at the speed limit and it has become so dangerous I tell my children to avoid it on their bikes because it's not safe. I know a group of residents was petitioning for traffic calming measures but nothing came of it. Will it take a death to make this happen?
  • 5591 Battle Point Dr Ne Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110 - Bainbridge Island
This is the third time I have reported an abandoned car in the woods between Battle Point Drive and the home at this address in approximately 3 years. It is now completely covered in vegetation. The area is served by wells, and the car could be leaking hazardous substances. While this has been acknowledged (Feb 2022) nothing has been investigated or done about it.
