    "DESCRIPTION
    To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my utmost concern and disappointment regarding the abuse of elders living near the train crossings in Robertsdale . Specifically, I am referring to the incessant honking of trains at all hours of the night, which is causing severe discomfort and health problems for our elderly population.

As we all know, elders require adequate sleep to maintain their health and wellbeing. However, the constant honking of trains is depriving them of this basic necessity. They are forced to endure the loud blasts of the horn, which disrupts their sleep patterns and causes immense stress and anxiety.

The consequences of this abuse are severe. Lack of sleep can lead to serious health problems in elders, including high blood pressure, heart disease, and depression. Moreover, it can worsen existing health conditions and impair cognitive function, making it difficult for them to carry out daily activities.

It is unacceptable that our elders have to suffer in this way. It is high time that we take action to address this issue and ensure that our community is a safe and healthy place for all. We urge the authorities to take immediate measures to reduce the noise pollution caused by train honking, particularly during the night.

We cannot continue to ignore the needs of our elders. It is our responsibility to provide them with a safe and comfortable environment where they can live with dignity and receive the care and support they require."

As a resident that lives across the street from this care facility I wanted to make sure that this has not lost momentum. The train horns at all hours of the night has increased exponentially since the railroad added new tracks a few years ago. If a NO HORN zone cannot be made for the residents of this care facility, then there needs to be a time restriction for train horns. We need the City of Hammond to help these elderly residents not to mention the rest of the tax paying residents who also have to put up with these horns.
