257 South Champlain Street Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
DPW and the Railroad plugged a storm drain pipe without consulting adjacent property owners. Now our parking lot/loading docks flood when it rains and inhibits the business operations of 20 companies in the building.

    1. Houses that are situated to the east of the final storm sewer drain (68 and 70 addresses) have water that collects in front of their driveways with any rainfall or any significant snowmelt. These collection puddles will easily accumulate to approximately 4” in depth. During the winter, these puddles then freeze and remain a significant ice patch for most of the winter. When not completely frozen, the resulting slushy puddle spans the driveway aprons and would make it impossible to walk from the road (such as from a parked car) and up the driveway without submerging your feet. There is no place for this water to drain. The nearest storm water drain is situated uphill at the adjacent house.

Large gap at very uneven grate. This is on the steep section uphill in the bike lane and approximately 5" deep. Please fix this area in the bike lane. This was reported over a year ago and no fix has been applied. It is a real hazard for people on a bike causing them to have to swerve. If this was a pothole in the road it would have been filled long ago.

Every time it rains, water stays in fairly deep pool at the end of our driveway and stretches east along the street up to our neighbor's driveway. To the west, water also collects. Although there is a drain to the west, the street is not pitched to bring water from the east side to that drain. It is the only drain in this portion of the street.

60-68 Starr Farm Rd Burlington, VT 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Frequent standing water not draining in crossing area. Drain is set higher than street so water has nowhere to go. Corner of Starr farm and Grey Meadow.
  • 270 Pine St Burlington, Vermont - Burlington Electric
Between Conant Metal and Light and Kilburn St the east sidewalk floods. Just wanted to get it on the planning radar.

264 Maple St Burlington 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
New paving at intersection of South Union and Maple did not address standing water issues. Storm drains are sited too high to alleviate pooling.

I was surprised to see this issue marked as "resolved" To my knowledge, none of the many neighbors who provided testimony that validates the concern have been notified that this issue has been remedied Nor has any work been done to correct the significant issues caused by poor drainage and the absence of any storm water management beyond the crossroads of Bilodeau Ct and Bilodeau Pkwy Please provide documentation of the steps taken that have resulted in the numerous concerns presented as having met the determined threshold for "resolved" I'm happy to request this documentation in more detail through a different process if needed, but want to begin here

There is patched macadam in the area where a lake forms due to insufficient drainage. There is now a pothole in the patch. Please patch the pothole and add a drain in the low spot in this section of Hyde St. Thanks.
