Traffic Signal ProblemsReconocido2-48 Shore Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington ElectricThe settings on Pedestrian crossing signals need to be fixed. Sometimes but not always it goes from a white walk signal to a red palm with zero seconds left. That means I’m stuck in the middle of a crosswalk being told I’m not allowed to cross after I was told it is safe to cross.
This is a dangerous intersection for pedestrians cars making a left-hand turn from North Avenue will usually not stop for pedestrians and there’s been a number of times I’ve almost been hit. When the signal is up. They’re yelling at me saying I shouldn’t be crossing and this might be why. Something is very wrong with his intersection and it needs to be fixed before there’s a serious accident or someone gets killed. This is an especially important now. that there is an elementary school temporarily at Saint Marks. -
Traffic Signal ProblemsReconocido250-264 Flynn Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricThe exit from the parking lot at 208 Flynn Avenue is directly adjacent to the new traffic light for the connector. When the light is red on Flynn Avenue, traffic backs up at the light and people exiting the parking lot are unable to turn left onto Flynn. This can take multiple light cycles at peak traffic times. This intersection should be studied to determine how to fix this issue. There are alot of people that work at the businesses at 208 Flynn Avenue, as well as a daycare, so this affects a great number of people at peak traffic times.

Traffic Signal ProblemsReconocido78-108 S Willard St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington ElectricGood morning, I have submitted this a few times. They really should be pedestrian. Crossing signs at this busy intersection of college Street and route seven. It would make it much safer. There are children walking to school, college students, residence that would benefit from this.

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemReconocidoPine St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricThis sign makes it impossible to see approaching bicyclists, pedestrians, etc, unless you pull up onto the recreation path. It needs to be mounted away from the path at least 10 feet. It's a collision waiting to happen.

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemReconocidoManhattan Dr Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington ElectricThere needs to be better signage at the intersection of Spring Street and Manhattan Drive so that pedestrians are actually SAFE when walking in the crosswalks. This morning my children and I were crossing the street in the crosswalk to go to school and a car drove right through the crosswalk and almost hit us. I live on Manhattan Dr and this happens VERY often. Cars DO NOT stop or look. It's a VERY dangerous intersection in a school zone and nothing is done to improve it. There needs to be a crossing guard or a flashing light. Is it going to take a child getting hit by a car for you to do anything??

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemReconocido79 1/2 Chase St Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricPlease add crosswalk signs to both sides of the street in both directions. This street has high volumes of traffic. Often with traffic backed up across the crosswalk. Better visual signage for crosswalk is appropriate.

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemReconocidoMaple St & S Winooski Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I am writing to suggest relocating the traffic signs on Winooski Avenue to the opposite (right-hand) side of the street. Because Winooski is one-way, drivers turning from Maple Street often miss the current signage—placed on the left—and mistakenly turn against traffic.
Moving the signs to the right side, where drivers’ attention is naturally focused, would make them more visible and could significantly reduce the risk of wrong-way turns at this intersection.
Thank you for your consideration, and for all the work you do to keep our streets safe.

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemReconocidoBeltline Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
I’d like to flag an area of concern regarding a pattern of dangerous and illegal driving on southbound Rt. 127 as it merges with the southbound on-ramp from North Avenue. Both these events occurred between 8-9 AM on weekdays at rush hour. On two occasions in the past several weeks I experienced drivers coming from the direction of Colchester on southbound Rt. 127 accelerating to very high speeds (65-70 MPH) in order to pass traffic coming from North Avenue that had already merged onto 127. On both occasions this occurred well beyond the markings for two lanes, and on one occasion the passing car actually clipped my mirror as there was no room between my car and the curb. On both occasions these drivers observably accelerated from a considerable and safe distance behind the merged traffic in order to pass as many cars as possible. This is incredibly dangerous driving; merging traffic is inherently complicated and making the judgments necessary for allowing legal right of way requires safe and legal driving.
Based on my experience someone is going to get hurt, probably sooner than later. I’ve seen this driving a number of times outside the two cases above; my guess is it’s becoming normalized which is an extremely dangerous trend. The larger problem is the extra width of the roadway beyond the lane markings; clearly these drivers see this as license to pass at very high speeds where there is no legal passing. Again, if this doesn’t stop someone is going to get hurt.
Thank you for your consideration.

1-71 Brierwood Ln Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington ElectricConsider adding a sign to slow down folks coming around this corner. It is a dangerous curve with people speeding around it, and cars parked on the street which sometimes makes it a blind turn.
