    Eclipse weekend request: Can the City have the businesses between Church St and the Flynn PROMPTLY clear their DAILY lineup of garbage bins — both full and empty — off the Main Street sidewalk? They narrow the sidewalk, are unsightly for neighbors (AND Flynn patrons and eclipse guests this weekend) and add to the current narrative that downtown BTV isn’t a pleasant/safe place to spent time. Before Covid, bins appeared only on trash/recycle pickup days, so surely there are ways for these businesses to be far more neighborly and even more responsible biz owners / community members. Thanks.

    Two women + others were dumping out a string of up to 5 recycling bins onto the green space and were sorting through them. I was driving by and could not stop in traffic but it looked like they were just leaving them dumped on the grass. The location was on North Avenue in the Old North End closer to the police station. My concern is they are just going to keep dumping them as they go and if the wind picks up it is going to be a mess. We have been having issues with the housing challenged going through our bins on private property at City Bluffs and my concern is we are going to find ours dumped out tomorrow. My apologies for not being able to give a complete description or photo as I was in traffic and could not pull over.

    This is human feces. The residents or a regular visitor to this property dump human feces out of their vehicle in baggies or cups. there are always wipes mixed in. The packages migrate to the sidewalk. I tried to upload multiple images, because there are currently multiple piles on the sidewalk. This has been an ongoing problem for two years. Soiled wipes have blown onto the adjacent property where I live. Everyone who walks down the sidewalk is at risk. I have sympathy for the unhoused who are forced to go outdoors, but this is not that as they have clearly pooped in the car and could just as easily take these packages to the dumpster. Children from this household play here and many area childcares walk on this sidewalk daily.
