This is a school zone. Kids walk to and from school, often alone. This property’s construction continues to regularly block access to the back entrance of the school. Today the sidewalk is closed off, again, and the crosswalk leading to the school is also blocked off by construction vehicles. There is no crossing guard on duty. There is no light to indicate someone is crossing. This is a safely issue that needs to be addressed. The children of Burlington should have the right to walk safely to school and teachers should be able to get to the parking lot without being held up for whatever construction vehicle is blocking the entrance. Again, this is not just a one time issue. Perhaps these companies could hold off on interfering with everyone else’s commute, whether by vehicle, bicycle, or on foot until AFTER schools have started, as well as when school has ended? Today’s crop of workers were not even working at this time, just standing around smoking and talking, so i think it’s safe to say that it isn’t necessary for them to “begin” before school is in session.

Parking is very limited by the main st construction. The problem is amplified by contractors taking nearly all of the available parking spots. Sometimes parking all day in the 30 minute spots and the temporary bus stop. Something should be done about this.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to cross the intersection of Pine and Maple. Sidewalks are gravel and road is completely dug up. What do you do if you are in a wheelchair or have a stroller? Could the sidewalk be completed before the road is torn apart?

As an IAA family, fully supportive of slowing traffic down around the school, but the rubber speed bumps being installed here and on Packard cannot be traversed without coming to a full stop. 10mph is too fast and the city will be at risk for damages if that is what they are posting for a speed limit.

This active episode of the recurring floodlights at Main and Pine began at least 24-hours ago. No construction last night, today, or tonight. Seems incredibly dangerous shining searingly bright lights — day and night — in the eyes of drivers and pedestrians.

They are performing Asbestos remediation in the basement on Monday November 10- Thursday November 13. How can we ensure that this will not leak into the residential space. Don't see a permit. Is one needed?
