Speed BumpAcknowledged33 Gosse Ct Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington ElectricNew speed bumps require cars to go 5 mph to safely go over them. There are no signs instructing a speed lower than 25 mph which is the posted speed limit. If people are exceeding the speed limit please make speed bumps like at cp smith that allow people to go the posted speed limit please.

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemAcknowledged1-75 Gosse Ct Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington ElectricWe like the new speed bumps on Gosse Court. Others complained of the short width causing cars to swerve. Not a problem when the street is empty. Yesterday while riding my bike on the side of the road a car went directly at me forcing me to the center so it could avoid the bump. We were both going slow and looking directly at one another but hey wouldn't move? Any plans to correct this to stop the swerving when people are around?

Excessive and dangerous speeding Acknowledged455 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricThere needs to be speed enforcement posted on North Avenue, specifically between BHS and The Beltline, more specifically in the morning. Between 5:30 and 6:00am when a lot of people are out walking dogs it’s very unsafe due to people speeding excessively and even passing on The Avenue.

Parking too close to bike path intersectionAcknowledged2 Stirling Pl Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington ElectricAlmost daily, there are 3 or 4 cars parked in a tight row on the north west side of the intersection of Shore Rd and the bike path. This makes it very difficult for cars driving east on Shore Rd to see pedestrians and bikes who are approaching the intersection from the north. And likewise, it’s hard for people to see approaching cars. There should be no parking allowed within a safe distance of the intersection with the rec path to ensure clear visibility for all. A biker was hit at this crossing last summer.

Winooski River Bridge - Winooski
My wife was the victim of a hit and run on Friday, 8/25, while on the Winooski River bridge during her bike commute home from work. The car hit her from behind. The driver never stopped, and my wife landed on the road and in the emergency room with multiple injuries. She is a medical professional and will likely be out of work for the foreseeable future as her job is physically demanding (i.e., ironically, having to lift, support, and transfer patients as a physical therapist)
I know there is a long-term multi-year project to replace the bridge and address the long-known safety concerns. Still, something must be done in the meantime to slow down drivers and reduce these incidents—perhaps more signage, public service announcements, cameras, something, anything.

Transportation or Parking Improvement RequestAcknowledged18 Bradley St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington ElectricTraffic calming measures request: there are frequently motorists who speed up Bradley Street in excess of 40-50mph. We need a speed bump/speed table or something to curb this dangerous behavior. Many neighbors have expressed concern.n

Traffic/Street Signs: Report ProblemAcknowledgedPleasant Ave & Starr Farm Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
This intersection is increasingly dangerous to navigate for families visiting the park.
1) Visibility is poor turning in and out of the park
2) Many drivers do not stop at the stop sign and many run it at full speed.
3) far too many drivers do not stop at the stop sign when turning right into the park creating a deadly situation for families attempting to leave the park by bike.
Flashers and speed bumps would be nice!

Traffic Calming INT Technical ServicesAcknowledgedNorth Ave & Shore Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Today, I was once again almost hit by a negligent driver who failed to stop at a red light while I was legally crossing North Ave near Shore Road.
I would ask that improvements to the pedestrian and cyclist safety be made along North Ave.
North Avenue is a dangerous place to be a pedestrian due to the volume, speed, and inattention of motorists who use this road. People are disincentivized from walking here from hostile infrastructure and motorists. I understand it is an artery in and out of the City, but please consider reducing and enforcing the speed limit and installing more traffic calming measures.
I would also ask that you protect and give more space to bikes. At present, the bike lanes are choked with debris and people in cars regularly veer across the painted lines. Please install bollards and widen the cycling lane.
North Ave is an unnecessarily unpleasant place, and prioritizing infrastructure away from cars would go a long to improving this part of Burlington.

Hi. I saw this in an article in the Free Press. How can we get this system for the Penny Lane and Lake St. train track crossing?
"Quiet zones exist at many of the crossings between Charlotte and Burlington. The cities and towns along this route have requested the status from the federal government. Because the horn and bell aren’t routinely blown at those locations, the crossings themselves have extra safety measures.”
