Transportation or Parking Improvement RequestAcknowledgedMain St & S Willard St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricThere needs to be a turn lane both Southbound and Northbound on S. Willard, turning on to Main St. Traffic is always back up, sometimes for blocks, because if there is a car turning only it will make it through the intersection.

Main St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
I hope this the right place to file this concern but recently I’ve had to drive through this intersection during busier times (8-9am) and 3-5pm and nearly every time, drivers are forced to do dangerous maneuvers they raise serious concerns about both driver and pedestrian/cyclist safety.
The primary issue I think is they there is no way for cars taking lefts to easily let drivers going straight through. In addition there are many times when there is no break in traffic so left turners often take the left on a red.
Is this intersection on your agenda? I’m seriously concerned about the danger of this intersection.
Perhaps a left turn light or offset cycle could allow left turners to get through without causing a bottleneck.
I’ve also had dangerous interactions with cars that have become impatient while waiting here cycling my kids to and from school along Willard.Let me know if there is anything I can do to help or if there is another place I should file this concern.
Thanks,

Transportation or Parking Improvement RequestAcknowledgedManhattan Dr & Spring St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electrici'm not sure what it's going to take to get someone to do something about this intersection, but the amount of times i personally come close to getting hit by a vehicle is insane. does someone need to get hit by a car for the city to take this seriously? not to mention it is in a school zone. understanding that the school is out of commission this year, but there is no difference in how vehicles use this intersection when school is in session except that there are MORE pedestrians. the cross walk is almost completely eroded so drivers feel like it's their right to actually argue with pedestrians that they have the right of way. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something. minimally a repainted crosswalk and a flashing light are needed.

North Ave & Shore Rd Burlington, Vermont, 05408 - Burlington ElectricI am writing about one minor item among the multitudes of problems that are present in Burlington, namely the traffic light at the corner of North Ave and Shore Rd. It can be a major problem, especially with afternoon traffic.
I think there should be a left turn arrow for those cars headed north and wanting to turn onto Shore Rd. I have watched (and waited) too many times where only 1 car could turn left because of too much traffic heading south and a very short light. The light should be programmed to stay green longer than it does. I have also read in FPF where people get angry if a car going north turns left when the light turns green to get a jump on the car going south.
There happen to be 2 lights hanging at that corner and I would imagine that it would not be difficult to change one to have a left turn arrow and a sensor for those cars turning left.
I hope this will be taken into consideration and a change will be made.
Thank you for your time. -

1-99 Russell St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I am writing to express my concern regarding the existing no-parking signage that restricts parking for three months on Charles street and Russel street. While I understand the need for temporary restrictions to accommodate winter needs, this extended period poses significant challenges for residents and visitors due to the already limited parking availability in the area.
The lack of alternative parking solutions exacerbates the situation, making it increasingly difficult for those of us who rely on street parking to go to our jobs. I kindly request that the city reconsider the duration of the restriction or explore more alternatives that address the parking struggles.
For example, implementing rotating restrictions, having parking only banned during street cleaning or just during snow street bans, or shortening the restriction period could greatly lessen the burden on residents. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this more and explore potential solutions.

I am requesting the city to look at the parking situation on Ferguson near the cul-de-sac and the Foster Ave block between Flynn and Ferguson/Lyman. There are several factors in play: when the cul-de-sac was put in we lost about 10 parking spots, the fire truck needs to have the two spots adjacent to my driveway for maneuvering the fire truck, and recently City Market employees lost their provided parking at 208 Flynn Ave.
I would recommend speaking with Captain Sullivan at Fire Station #5, because he thought parking could be added back to the cul-de-sac.
Foster St has basically become a one lane road due to all the city market employee parking.
There are some households that take up more than their fair share of spots also. I feel that permit parking would help with an equitable distribution of the few parking spots on the street.
Thank you for your consideration into this matter. Katherine Merrill
