I am submitting this document that lays out a suggestion to possibly address a way to increase the number of electric vehicle charging options in the Old North End without sacrificing any existing parking capacity by changing the current parallel parking on Booth Street to be diagonal parking and installing EV charging stations at some of the extra spaces.

If you can suggest a better point of contact with the city for this proposal, please let me know.

Drivers are constantly parked on the sidewalk in front of the gas pumps in this location, despite there being ample parking provided in the gas station lot. This creates hazards and visibility issues for people walking, biking, and driving. Could the city install some bollards or at least flexposts to delineate the sidewalk from the gas station property? Please do not assign this to enforcement—this needs an engineering solution.

    Deceptive markings and signage.

I received a ticket for parking in this spot near the corner of Drew and North street. The street has clear parking space space markings where I parked, and there is a sign between the next driveway and the marked space that says no parking here to corner. The obvious inference from the combination of sign and markings is to not park too close to the driveway, but the parking enforcement officer told me it means that you can't park in the area with the parking spot markings.

I will be contesting the ticket, but this is an obvious signage failure that will continue to confuse people until it is corrected.

SPEED BUMPS NEEDED! I just moved onto this street two weeks ago and have observed people basically drag racing up the street (no exaggeration) often late at night. It wakes us up and is very loud. One person was doing loops around the block (I counted 5-6). It is a daily occurrence. I am also aware of multiple traffic fatalities due to excessive speed on this street in the last few years. I have a 6 YO child and real concerns about safety, as cars speed up and down the street. Other nearby small streets like ours have speed bumps, why not this one? I am also concerned that an accident could hit our house, which is on the corner of Cedar and Rose St. and right across from the site of a fatal accident last year. Please help make our street safe for children (and everyone)! Sincerely, Concerned Citizen

We have two parking spots designated in front of our house. It is nearly impossible for that to take place unless there are two very small vehicles. Our driveway is constantly partially blocked. I do not like to call to have the car ticketed as we get irate folks coming to our door or egging our car. I would like to have the spot in front of our house designated as a single parking spot

  • Main St & S Willard St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

Can the crosswalks at Main and Willard allow pedestrians to cross while keeping ALL lights red? I've been nearly struck by multiple cars while walking on Main crossing over Willard. This is also a major crossing point for students aat Edmunds Elementary and Middle schools.

The main issue appears to be the left turning traffic not having a left turn light. They are allowed to turn and must beat the oncoming traffic while pedestrians are crossing. Additionally the crosswalk signals are particular difficult to see from a vehicle attempting to turn left from Main on to Willard.

Crosswalk needs to be brought up to standards. Lacks crosswalk paint. Stop signs are often disregarded due to no outlet street on one part of a three way intersection.

Chiming in to share that the Chase St/Colchester Ave "Bump out" has made a big positive difference in reducing vehicles speeding down Chase St. If altering it to accommodate complaints from larger vehicles, please take into consideration the pedestrian improvements enhanced by the bump out and the traffic calming positives due to slowing vehicles down. Would suggest widening the neck of the Chase Street portion and putting in more permanent amenities such as curbing, green space
