SidewalkReconnu802 Colchester Ave Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricPlease sweep the bridge sidewalk. Or is it because the sidewalk sweeper can't traverse the horrible conditions. Heavy walk and bike usage here. Fix it!

OtherReconnu500 S Willard St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington ElectricOver the past few months, the average traveling speed for vehicles driving North on South Willard has increased substantially. I don’t own a radar gun, but I’m positive that the average speed of cars on South Willard has gone from 5-10mph on the 25mph posted speed limit. Cars are now traveling upwards of 50mph constantly, throughout the day and evening hours. I have contacted BPD about the issue of speeding on South Willard, but without paying for an BPD officer to perform a “detail” on South Willard, solely enforcing the speed limit. Obviously BPD handing out tickets won’t stop this issue, as it’s most cars and stopping one car won’t “slow” this problem. Route 7 is a Vermont State Highway, but there are obviously no VSP or Chittenden Country Sheriffs being paid to patrol Burlington streets for speeding. What can be done to slow the excessive flow of traffic from Shelburne Rd, North on South Willard?

Home Ave & Shelburne Rd Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricToday my son was almost run over for the third time walking home from school at the intersection of Home Ave and Shelburne Rd. The current traffic volumes, speeding and road rage of drivers on Pine St and Home Ave is so bad and has been handled so poorly by the city that we feel like there is no governance where traffic conditions are concerned. Why is DPW ignoring what is going on in regards to traffic on Home Ave. and Pine St.? Why are we left to fend for ourselves? When someone is badly injured there will be no question as to whom is to blame. Please do something to reduce traffic volumes, speed and truck traffic on these streets. You know there is a problem, yet nothing is done. Why?

128 N Union St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
So far, Union St has been the only protected bike line installed out of the miles planned in PlanBTV Walk-Bike. Currently, there is *not a single bollard* on Union St in place protecting bikers from cars. In addition, bike lane markings have faded away because of cars driving through the bike lane. Please install permanent barriers as planned and re-paint this protected bike lane ASAP. Clearly the white plastic bollards are not a sustainable option, or are not being installed properly.
From DPW website: "This is an important corridor for bicycling and it is important to keep cars from driving in the bike lane. Ultimately, this protected bike lane will be constructed with permanent materials - as funding becomes available."

Traffic Signal ProblemsReconnu160-172 Lakeside Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricConfusing and Dangerous intersection. This photo was taken from the left hand turn lane facing north on the Southern Connector at Lakeside Avenue. From here, one can barely see a driveway next to a line of parked cars to the east across Lakeside Ave. The driveway is not contiguous with the Southern Connector and has no street sign. One would normally think that cars emerging from this driveway should yield to traffic. There is little indication for a driver pointing north to realize that this driveway is actually a signaled exit to a four way intersection. Vehicles heading north on the connector, turning west on Lakeside would assume that they have the right of way over cars emerging from the driveway, while those cars, responding to a green signal, believe that they have the right of way. This intersection requires a red/green left turn arrow for cars travelling north on the connector, or at a minimum a sign that "drivers turning left must yield to oncoming traffic".

Maple St & Pine St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington ElectricThere is a stop sign that needs to be a traffic light. It causes consistent major traffic issues on Pine St. I believe could be resolved with the implementation of a traffic light.
