Please add crosswalk across South Union Street at Bradley St. This is a highly used crossing area but lacks any crosswalk infrastructure.

  • Colchester Avenue At Opposite Chase Street Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Bollards were installed for traffic calming. People driving vehicles ran them all over. Bollards have been laying there since Fall 2022. Please reinstall or consider cement planters that can't just be driven over. The point is to slow and narrow travel lane to make it safer for people walking. It was helpful when actually installed and not laying in the greenbelt.

There are a few families with young children who live around here and it would be great to have a traffic sign indicating that there are children at play, especially as the warmer months approach We could use a sign on Pomeroy St as well Thank you!

Please upgrade this sub standard crosswalk leading to a school that is also by senior housing. It needs the now standard double sided crosswalk signs and the low contrast non standard red brick upgraded to a standard marking.
  • Maple St & S Prospect St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I walk through this three-way intersection twice daily. I’ve had multiple near misses from drivers not stopping at the stop signs or jumping ahead of their turn in the lineup. The crosswalk lines were repainted in the fall but faded quickly. Please make repainting a priority. Is there anything else that can be done to improve pedestrian safety? Are flashing pedestrian lights a possibility?
  • Shelburne Rd Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
Customer called and stated that he had stopped for a pedestrian at the Swift Street and on ramp for 189 and was rear ended by the driver behind him. Feels there should be some flashers for pedestrians at these intersections to help people be more aware of the crosswalks
  • Ethan Allen Pkwy Burlington, Vermont, 05408 - Burlington Electric
Ethan Allen Parkway is often a place where drivers can get up to 60 mph because it’s a straight shot with no road bumps. It’s very scary how fast people will drive with so many children around. I would like to request traffic calming humps be installed. I’m sure I’m not the only neighbor that feels this way. Thanks

No crosswalks at Bradley and Union. High volume pedestrian crossing. Please add standard crosswalk here.
  • 950 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric

The end of North Avenue Road is currently unsafe due to a lack of clear lanes, marked parking areas, hazardous pedestrian crossings, and excessive speeds. The specific stretch of road I am referring to is from the intersection of Plattsburg Avenue and North Avenue to the end of North Avenue, which includes the areas past Star Farm Road, Flynn Elementary School, and the Waste Treatment facility.

Could you please consider implementing the following improvements that have the potential to significantly enhance the safety and functionality of North Avenue Road?

Crosswalks - Cars consistently fail to yield at crosswalks. Could you install crosswalks with built-in lights that activate when the button is pushed?
Street Markings - It is a wide street, but currently, there are no markings on it. Would you consider adding a center line, a bike lane on one side of the street, and parking spots on the other side (facing the lake)?
Excessive Speed - With the wide, straight road, cars speed down the road. Could you add speed bumps or install lane diverts similar to what is being installed on East Ave?

Thank you for considering these improvements. They will make this part of the neighborhood safer for travelers.

  • Hyde St & Riverside Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
This intersection is extremely concerning. People are often turning left onto Hyde Street when the light is red, meanwhile the light coming out of Community Health Centers is green and people are turning left onto Riverside Ave. I see almost head on collisions every single day. I think the stop line needs to be pushed back to match up with the corner of the cemetery. Or there needs to be a sign that says, “no left turn on red” something, anything, before someone gets seriously injured.
