  • 1–35 Birchcliff Pkwy Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
There is currently parking allowed on both sides of the west terminus of Birchliff Parkway With many visitors to Zero Gravity, this often makes for a dangerous single lane at the intersection with Pine St The Champlain Elementary Pedestrian Improvement project included plans to have parking on only one side of the street Maybe the lack of signage was just an oversight at the end of the project? A few "No Parking" signs on the north side of the street from Cherry Ln to Pine St would alleviate this hazard ,

Please upgrade this sub standard crosswalk leading to a school that is also by senior housing. It needs the now standard double sided crosswalk signs and the low contrast non standard red brick upgraded to a standard marking.
  • 2-76 Gosse Ct Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
I very much appreciate the traffic calming efforts on Gosse Ct (as they are needed) but the pilot speed bumps are ineffective because they don't extend across the whole road. I've witnessed more cars swerving around them (sometime on their side of the road and other times veering into the wrong lane) than going over them. I also think the frequency of them and the need for traffic to slow to 10 miles per hour 4 times (when the last bump is installed) seems aggresive, which is also how I would describe the speed bumps which ride much more harshly than a permanent version. I would love for the pilot to be successful and think some small tweaks would improve things for all!!

  • 349 College St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
There should be 4-way crosswalk signals at this intersection of College Street and S. Willard St. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic with school back in session, both college and kids going to Edmunds Elementary and Middle School, it would be much safer if there was traffic control pedestrian crossing mechanisms in place. Often, pedestrians are crossing wild. The traffic lights are green, putting themselves at risk.
  • 99 Dodds Ct Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Suggest 4-way stop sign at this location. Commuters leaving the west end of the neighborhood routinely speed around the corner, the south extension of Dodds Court does not have good visibility of oncoming traffic from the west due to fence and shed installed in the last couple of years, and children are in the road biking to school.
  • 32 Cliff St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
The residents of Cliff St. between South Union and South Willard would like to request a Traffic Calming construction. We see frequent excessive speed of cars and light trucks, especially going downhill, on this block, which is a hazard to resident children, walkers, bikers, pets, and drivers. We are open to alternatives, as in the manual.
  • 1685 North Ave Burlington, Vermont, 05408 - Burlington Electric
The traffic light at North Ave and Plattsburg Ave is the last traffic light or stop sign when heading north toward Flynn school and therefore it is considered a racetrack by some drivers and motorcyclists who hit their accelerators and zoom past Flynn school over 40 mph. In the past I believed that adding stop signs at the corner of Starr Farm road would be the best deterrence but after seeing the new traffic calming on Grove Street I now believe that one of these traffic calming devices in front of the school; or a device at just North of Starr farm road and another near Turf Road would reduce the possibility of a child being harmed on North Ave.
  • Berry St & North Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I would like DPW to consider adding a beacon light at the corner of Berry Street and North Ave. There is a clearly marked crosswalk, but cars fly through here and rarely yield to pedestrians. When cars do stop, I've seen cars eager to turn right out of Berry Street or left out of Manhattan Drive pull out onto North Ave, endangering pedestrians. If a beacon light cannot be added in this location, I hope you will consider repainting the crosswalk. Thank you!
  • Vt-127 Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
Customer called and requested that the Yield sign that used to be at the entrance of the Beltline from North Avenue, near Allliance Church, be put back up as she stated that the vehicles coming on the Beltline from this location are just pushing traffic out of the way to get on the Beltline making people push over and almost going off road.
  • Intervale Ave & Oak St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Please consider adding a flashing "Four-way stop" sign to this intersection. Drivers traveling on Riverside/Oak Street consistently miss drivers traveling on Intervale/Manhattan Dr, and there have been many near-collisions.
  • 2-28 Grant St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

On Grant Street (in between Winooski Ave and Elmwood) cars tend to speed when turning off Elmwood, down Grant Street, and turn right on Winooski.

There are speed bumps on the other side of Grant Street (in between Winooski an N. Union Street), but none on our section of Grant Street where people speed and where we witness accidents on the intersection of Elmwood and Grant, that I think would occur less if people were not going as fast.
