Customer requesting Speed bump - petition to follow.
  • Prospect Pkwy Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric

I am interested to learn more about the process to request speed humps on a residential street. I live on Prospect Parkway and as a cut through we have noticed a large uptick in speeding and cars not stopping at the intersection of Crescent and Prospect. As a mother and tax payer, I am interested to learn more about how the city can help make my street safer.

    Thank you in advance!

Traffic calming needed on Intervale Avenue.
  • Manhattan Dr & Spring St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Please add in some safety measures at the intersection of Spring and Manhattan next to IAA. The crosswalk paint is worn away and the cars consider the stop signs as a suggestion. There have been MANY close calls at this intersection, most with children crossing while trying to get to and from school. A crossing guard, a traffic light, a crosswalk light, literally anything will be an improvement. It is extremely dangerous, and unfortunately, only a matter of time until someone is hit. Please!

Manhattan Drive has constant accidents from drivers speeding down the road. There have been two in the last 24 hours. Please consider implementing traffic calming measures. Thanks!
  • Shelburne Rd Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

Please please please please please make it much more obvious from the Shelburne Rd/St. Paul to Shelburne Rd. sides that you have to yield to traffic in the circle. A flashing light maybe? Coming up from Locust St. many times if there is traffic coming from Shelburne Rd. the person in the circle has to brake (or stop, usually honking either way) because somebody is blasting through at speed.

It is, as they say, bonkers. Pls remedy.

  • Flynn Ave & Pine St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Flynn Ave (westbound) at Pine St is painted as one car lane + a bike path. Many cars attempt to pass around to the right when making a right turn onto Pine St (northbound). There is barely enough space for two cars causing cars to pass inches apart. Please add a right turn lane or make it clear what is allowed. This is a very high traffic intersection with a lot of pedestrian traffic.

Requesting flashing crossing lights at the crosswalk at Champlain School.
  • Prospect Pkwy & Fairmount St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
I live on Prospect Parkway. Everyday I witness people speeding through the neighborhood. I am concerned for people's safety. Prospect Parkway could use a few speed bumps, one at the top of the hill near the rain gardens and another midway down the hill. To start, I hope a flashing speed display could be placed at the top of the hill on Prospect Parkway near the rain gardens. When people hit the top of the hill they gain speed. I thought the rain gardens would slow people down but it has not. They had placed a speed display last fall at the bottom of Prospect Parkway maybe one at the top near the rain gardens would be helpful and be a reminder to people to slow down.

Appletree point road. Some driver approach 60mph as they fly by. One hears the acceleration in either direction and the car is 3-4x the speed limit. One driver blows by every night (heading west) thinking they are on i89. Wtf! Police are not available to slow them down.
  • Plattsburg Ave & St Francis Park Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Need Crosswalk. Many children cross here
  • Locust St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
Cars are driving way too fast on Locust Street. This is a major problem since young children, sometimes unaccompanied, are crossing to Calahan Park. Solutions: more speed limit signs, electronic speed checking sign, traffic enforcement, speed study. This is a very real danger to pedestrians, especially children.
