    Hello,

I am a citizen of Burlington who regularly bikes through this area of the NNE to commute to work, shopping, and recreation.

Currently, there is an excess of cars parked on both sides of the street that narrows the lane to such a degree that it feels unsafe. People in oncoming cars will very often fail to yield to people on bikes before passing way too close.

The amount of space the private vehicles are taking up on the public roadway is a nuisance and increases the risk of injury to vulnerable road users.

Please consider limiting street parking to only one side of the street here.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Is it possible to get a ‘No parking here to Corner’ sign on the corner of Myrtle and Park? There’s always somebody parked very close to the sidewalk making it difficult for anything larger than a compact car to make a left onto Myrtle. When I do so, I have to make a super wide turn utilizing both lanes of Park St.

I live at the corner of park street and Manhattan Ave, at the traffic light on the south end of route 127 and I have lived here for 6 years. My bedroom window and my child’s bedroom window faces this intersection as does those of 4 of my neighbors.

Since the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in the number of noisy vehicles (motorbikes, cars with noisy exhaust systems) that take middle of the night joyrides at high speeds from the intersection. It happens every night if not several times per night and ear plugs and a noise machine have not improved my sleep.

I know that some places have road technology in speed tables where a speed-activated device will correct this issue. Could the city explore this or other solutions to restore basic quality of life to the residents in this section of the old north end?

We are in a strange situation where a neighborhood directly abuts a highway and I wonder if there are standards for a speed buffer in these cases. Such as not allowing motorists to accelerate to highway speeds until they are a certain distance from a residential street (Manhattan Ave).

  • 44 Lakeside Ave Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Lakeside Avenue needs a bike lane and signage to the bike path Hula wants everyone to ride their bikes to work, but there is no bike lane on an EXTREMELY dangerous street for both pedestrians and cyclists This should be a no-brainer

  • Locust St & Locust Ter Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Wondering why is there not a stop sign from locust terrace leading onto locust street? I was biking down locust terrace today and a driver did not stop, almost ran me over, then gave me a shrug to imply, "well there's no stop sign" and i was surprised to see that indeed there was not a stop sign here. Seems dangerous.

Requesting No Parking Here to corner on both streets to allow the fire truck to be able to turn safely when responding to an emergency.

we really need a crosswalk light here that coincides with the traffic light system - so many people cross without awareness of traffic flow.
