In regards to the Colchester / Chase St traffic calming - Although this has done a fair job reducing the speeding, there still remains a noticeable presence of disrespectful driving at all hours of the day. My bedroom is near the street and there's several nights I've felt unsafe in my own bed, hearing cars speeding and taking turns at high speeds.

Would it be possible to request Chase St closed to through traffic? There's really no need to have Chase St and Barrett St providing the same thoroughfare - Barrett St is already a controlled intersection. Living on Chase St feels more like living on a highway than a neighborhood street with the amount of traffic through here. Everybody is inside their house or backyard, because the front yards are littered with traffic.

I would like to request a street mirror, so that traffic on either side of street can be seen from the stop sign. Otherwise I would like to request that this become a three-way stop. It is really hard to see oncoming traffic because of the parked cars lining the road.
  • 208-244 Shelburne Rd Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
This has been and continues to be a place where people need to cross Shelburne Street, and since the temporary crosswalk at Adams was taken out, there's now no way to cross safely for a full half mile between the crosswalk at the new roundabout and the one at Prospect Parkway. People cross the road with no crosswalk quite often in this stretch — not only to get to the Adams and Alfred Street northbound and Hoover and Birchcliff southbound bus stops, but also just to get to where they're going on foot. It seems ludicrous to expect that people will walk half a mile out of their way to use one of the crosswalks, and, in fact, people don't. There should be at least one or two additional crosswalks on this stretch to accommodate foot traffic. A lot of people live, work and walk in this area and the pedestrian infrastructure is basically nonexistent. Why not make it easier to be a pedestrian on this part of Shelburne Street, maybe slow traffic going into the roundabout as a bonus, and give people a safe place to cross in the places where they're going to cross anyway?

Please consider installing "no right on red" signs or a combined 4-way crosswalk timer similar to the one on Pearl Street & Winooski Avenue. This intersection has a high volume of vehicles and pedestrians with many vehicles making turns while pedestrians should have the right of way. It is dangerous for the pedestrians crossing, and drivers who may not see them as they approach the intersection.

Can DPW evaluate speed limit and/or one-way signs at the entrance to Franklin Square?
  • 500 Pine St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Has there been a recent evaluation of parking utilization rates on Pine Street between Locust and Howard? It appears that virtually nobody parks on that stretch of street. If that’s the case, please add a bike lane. Thank you.
  • 37-99 Murray St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
    To whom it may concern,
Because of covid many parents that send their children to the sustainability academy are driving their children to school and not using the bus.
Between 7:45 and 8:15 there is not enough 15 minute parking spaces.
There are "no parking" spaces and most of the time parents can park with their flashers on. These are directly across form 60 Murray st.
There happens to be a person that lives by one of these houses that comes out and yells at the parents and children if they park there.
I was wondering if for the rest of the pandemic the city could change the designation of these parking spaces to 15 minute space during that short window of time?
I want to state that the aggressor is not wrong but their highly aggressive behavior is unacceptable, anti civil and not not in line with our city values(maybe).
    Respectfully yours,
Long time resident (first time emailer)

During winter months with the snow build up, having parking on both sides of the streets makes the road too narrow for two-way traffic. Parking should be one side only during the winter months.
  • 1-99 Myrtle St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Is it possible to get a ‘No parking here to Corner’ sign on the corner of Myrtle and Park? There’s always somebody parked very close to the sidewalk making it difficult for anything larger than a compact car to make a left onto Myrtle. When I do so, I have to make a super wide turn utilizing both lanes of Park St.
  • 73 Birchcliff Pkwy Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
If cars are parked on both sides of Birchcliff, only one car width is left in the center. Please restrict parking to one side of the street.
