Hello! This parking spot used to be a "resident only" spot. Last year it got changed to a 15min spot from 9am-6pm everyday. I put in an appeal to our Ward 1 rep. and after that the sign was taken away, so we figured that was why. Today, this sign was put up. We would really appreciate if this sign could go back to "residents only" given that Kampus Kitchen has 3 spots in front of the store, and the whole centennial parking lot, and this spot is rarely used for the store. We find this to be unfair since the spot used to be for residents, which we use every day. Please call me at the earliest convenience to work out a resolution.

Non compliant crosswalk. Has curb cuts but no signs or paint on the road as users come around a bend. Please fix this crosswalk to be fully compliant. This is a very heavily used area right at the Waterfront.
  • 131 North Ave Burlington 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Crosswalk on North Ave at Strong lacks sufficient sight lines on west side due to parked cars. Needs “no parking” area at least one spot north, and potentially south as well (not sure if driveway provides sufficient distance for sight lines). Driveway is also not ADA compliant.

  • Riverside Avenue At Intervale Road Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

The intersection at Riverside Ave, Riverside MUP, & Intervale Ave is a confusing, awkward mess.

People riding bikes are told to use the walk symbol. However, activating the "I would like to cross the street, pretty please think of me" button requires one to cross lanes and dismount to safely use it. Additionally, there is then a STOP sign, which customarily means, "Stop motion here and proceed once safe." That contradicts the instruction to use the walk signal. So which is it? Who knows?!

So, we should make this intersection simpler, clearer, and without needless hoops and impediments.

I'm open to what that may look like and I'm happy to give feedback if you'd like.

  • 151-155 Lakeside Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

The new full stop lights at the north end of the new connector and at the exit light for theold GD plant are completely overkill. There is little traffic on Lakeside as it is and barely any use now of the connector section that has been completed. The exit to the GD building has never needed one. They should bet set to blinking red with blinking yellow on the ones on Lakdeside.

When the full extension to I-89 is build it might need a full STOP light, but for now it's just stopping traffic with no cars in sight.

Hi DPW, I recently started working at Rhino Foods and as I live in the South End, I've been walking to work. There are no sidewalks or dedicated bike lanes on Queen City Park Rd. This feels extremely dangerous as a frequent pedestrian. I see lots of people walking, running, and biking on this road alongside buses and large commercial trucks. I believe that adding a sidewalk or a dedicated bike lane would go a long way to ensuring public safety along this highly trafficked corridor. Thank you for your attention to this issue.
  • Pearl St & N Prospect St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric

A life/death danger to pedestrians is caused by two things:

    1) The traffic light directing east and westbound traffic on Pearl Street/Colchester Avenue confuses pedestrians. This is because the traffic light turns red for eastbound traffic on Pearl Street a minute or two before the same traffic lights turn red for westbound traffic on Colchester Avenue. This confuses people standing at the SW and NW corner of Pearl and North Prospect Streets. They see the traffic light is red for westbound traffic and they assume it is also red for eastbound traffic; but in fact, westbound vehicles on Colchester Avenue still have a green light to drive straight through the intersection. People at the SW and NW corners of Pearl and North Prospect frequently enter the crosswalk prematurely because they see eastbound traffic has a red light. They assume westbound traffic also has a red light. Those who entered the crosswalk are at risk of getting hit by green lighted westbound vehicles - which are often out-of-sight until just before the car enters the intersection. Pedestrians crossing Pearl Street cannot see the on-coming westbound vehicles because the vehicles are hidden from view until after they crest a slope just west of the intersection.

It seems to me, that for safety reasons, it’s necessary is to have the east and westbound traffic along Pearl Street and Colchester Avenue both receive red light signals at the same time.

2). The other reason why pedestrian safety is severely compromised at this intersection is because there is no crosswalk button for pedestrians standing at the NW corner of Pearl and North Prospect Streets who want to cross Pearl Street in a southerly direction. At this NW corner, there is only a crosswalk button to use to cross North Prospect. That’s insufficient. I hope the reason for the delay in installing this previously requested crosswalk button is not related to the City’s plan to modify the traffic lanes on South Prospect. A crosswalk button is needed without delay for the safety of many people who walk across Pearl Street … from the intersection’s NW to SW corner. One cannot rely on people to be at the opposite corner (SW). Nor can one rely on people standing there to see and press their crosswalk button. As people gather at the NW corner waiting to cross Pearl Street, they end up jay-walking, or waiting for the traffic lights to change, or waiting for a person to arrive at the SW corner and hope they push the crosswalk button. Because I cross this intersection daily, I’ve seen near misses. I see how dangerous the current traffic light setting is and the lack of a crosswalk button (at that NW corner for people who want to cross Pearl to the SW corner) contributes to this danger.

Many students are not familiar with the unique traffic light settings at this intersection. New students arrive each year. They won’t know the danger of the westbound traffic. This makes it all the more important to: (1) have a crosswalk buttons for pedestrians who at the NW corner and want to cross Pearl street in a southerly direction …. and (2) fix the traffic light setting so westbound and eastbound vehicles receive red traffic light signals at the same time.

Please, can you install a pedestrian crossing button for people at the NW corner of the intersection of Pearl and North Prospect who want to cross Pearl Street?

  • 1124 Pine St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Please add a northbound bike lane to Pine Street between Queen city Park Road and Home Avenue, along with shared lane markings in the southbound lane. The current lane is 14 feet wide, which would accommodate a 4 foot wide bike lane. (Better yet, remove parking and re-stripe the whole street in a 5-10-10-5 configuration.)
  • 485 Colchester Ave Burlington, VT 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Mill St, Barret St, and Colchester Ave between the two lacks any bike parking despite being very built up with commercial and residential properties, as well as being a logical place to hitch up for folks who want to go to downtown Winooski but don't want to brave the death trap that is the bridge.
  • 547–603 S Prospect St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Please add an uphill bike lane to South Prospect from ledge to where the parking starts. The current traffic lane is 14 feet wide and would easily accommodate a bike lane. Also, please add shared lane markings in the downhill direction. Thank you.

Austin Drive at Red Rock Condos - There is concern for safety with the bike lane in the center of the road, as well as the lane lines that have been painted.
