Drivers continue to use the bike lane as a turn lane without regard for cars cued up at the light with their right hand signal. I was just cut off by two vehicles just as the light turned green. Either put the right turn lane back and come up with a better idea, or install a jersey barrier to prevent bad behavior. The current pattern is going to cause an accident!!!

There used to be bike racks in front of speeder and Earls. Are they coming back? This whole area should have a bunch of bike racks all along the section with brick pavers. Thanks!
  • 2-22 Calarco Ct Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

Hi! I’m writing to flag a safety issue at the entrance to Calarco Ct off Colchester Ave. Vehicles are frequently parked on both sides of Calarco Ct near the turn-off, which makes it difficult—and at times dangerous—for cars to enter or exit the street safely.

Additionally, the arborvitae planted on either side of the entrance significantly reduce visibility for both drivers and pedestrians. The shrubs have also started to encroach on the sidewalk, further limiting safe access.

I’m not sure what the next steps would be, but I’d really appreciate any guidance or support on how to address these concerns.

  • Lakeside Ave & Pine St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric

I wanted to offer some suggestions to improve the efficiency of traffic flow around Lakeside and Pine streets.

On Pine Street headed south, there is a no-right-turn on red onto Lakeside, which unnecessarily stops traffic flow. I can understand why this would be if drivers are making a left turn from northbound Pine Street with the green arrow. But it seems to serve no one if the light is green for Lakeside drivers.

Also the two stop lights on Lakeside drive coming from Hula towards Pine Street, and vice versa, are usually timed well, but if someone is coming out of Efficiency Vermont at the light, the lights go out of sync, which is frustrating. There are so many times that I am stopped at that light when no other cars are going anywhere.

Likewise if I'm driving east on Lakeside, and want to turn South onto Champlain Parkway, there is no right turn on red, which seemingly serves no purpose.

I hope that feedback helps and that there can be a better flow of traffic.

Looking to have bike racks installed in front of Scout on North Avenue
  • 51 Intervale Ave Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
Hello, on behalf of Intervale Avenue residents, I would like to request to have speed bumps put on our street. I have small children and cars are driving down our street at over 50mph. I’ve seen kids and pedestrians almost get hit. Is this something that can be done to make our neighborhood safer for families. Thank you, Brittany Bufano
  • 168 Home Ave Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric

Adding to the chorus calling for traffic calming/restrictions on Home Avenue east of Pine Street. Motorists are now lining up as far to the right as possible, blocking the bike lane, in order to facilitate drivers aggressively using the oncoming lane to get to Shelburne Street.

This is a recipe for a collision, either vehicle vs. vehicle or vehicle vs. pedestrian.

Bollards down the center line would be helpful, or along the edge of the bike lane. Bollards that damage cars, not flimsy plastic sticks or traffic cones.

People LIVE HERE. Stop coddling the commuters.

  • Colchester Ave & University Pl Burlington, VT, 05405, USA - Burlington Electric
Please put up a sign to indicate this is a two way area for cyclists. It currently says one way do not enter. I am requesting a sign similar to the sign on N/S Winooski Ave.

Thanks for the bike lanes on manhattan drive guys. Yet to see a biker use them. So necessary!! Such a great utilization of city money. I’m gonna take a walk to City Hall park and watch some people shoot up some drugs now, maybe I'll throw some graffiti up while I'm at it. Meanwhile city police avoid helping their citizens while people are actively breaking into there homes. But we got bike lanes!!!!
  • 37-63 Church St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington Electric
Private business using public bike racks. Please have business build their own racks. Or build more city racks. The city continues to not build the infrastructure for enough existing bikes, nor does it build understanding or infrastructure for private bike companies.
  • Manhattan Dr & Oak St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Dangerous intersection. Frequent accidents and near-misses. Not pedestrian friendly to cross. Currently, one entrance to the intersection has no signage (traffic entering intersection from oak st), another has a stop sign (manhattan dr heading south), and the third has a yield (manhattan dr heading north). There is no signage such as "cross traffic does not stop" on either side of Manhattan to indicate that the oak st traffic does not stop. It is also a very narrow and square corner, so there are frequently close calls between the folks with a yield and those without any signage. Please consider putting in stop signs on all 3 sides of the intersection to improve the safety of this intersection. Slowing all traffic to a stop would slow through traffic, but would likely lower the number of accidents and near-misses at this site, as well as making it more pedestrian friendly. Thank for considering!
