Transportation and Parking Improvement RequestPotwierdzone26 Dodds Ct Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Dodds Court should be a one way, have lots and lots of speed bumps, or be a dead end. It is currently used as a way for cars to bypass the light on the corner of Shore Road and North Ave.
That would be fine, except that the curve in the road decreases sight lines, and there are children playing and biking around here. I'd like to see cars slow down significantly (like, to 15 mph or less), or simple not be able to use this road to bypass the light by making it take longer than waiting (many speed bumps) or be impassable (dead end).

displaced plastic barrierPotwierdzone567 St Paul St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricI understand that these are cheap and easy to replace. However, has anyone looked at the environmental impact of making, replacing, and throwing away all of these disposable plastic barriers. They can potentially be recycled, but China is no longer taking our plastic recycling. Does DPW have a long term plan in place to replace these barriers with something more environmentally friendly?
Thank you. -
Transportation and Parking Improvement RequestPotwierdzoneLakeside Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
2 items of concern at Hula site -
1. There is an immediate need for a stop sign for the cars coming out of the Hula parking area (behind the original Blodgett building). There is no stop sign there or on Central Ave. so cars can come out onto Lakeside for both directions . I've seen several almost-accidents when cars don't stop coming out of Hula.
2. Coming from the east, those first two parking spaces on Lakeside Ave. in front of Hula block the view of cars coming up the hill and should really be eliminated.
Thanks for your consideration.

Pine St Burlington, Vermont, 05401 - Burlington ElectricWho is responsible for the large sign at the entrance to Resource and the CSWD site? I think it needs to be moved back away from the new multi-purpose path because it blocks your view of oncoming bikes or pedestrians as you look south from your car. A Stop or Yield sign, plus a painted Stop line on the pavement, should accompany the move. And maybe a Caution sign for path-goers, too, for there as well as other busy crossings such as at BCA and the Maltex parking lot where the buildings are close to the path.

Traffic Signal ProblemsPotwierdzoneMain St & S Willard St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Can the crosswalks at Main and Willard allow pedestrians to cross while keeping ALL lights red? I've been nearly struck by multiple cars while walking on Main crossing over Willard. This is also a major crossing point for students aat Edmunds Elementary and Middle schools.
The main issue appears to be the left turning traffic not having a left turn light. They are allowed to turn and must beat the oncoming traffic while pedestrians are crossing. Additionally the crosswalk signals are particular difficult to see from a vehicle attempting to turn left from Main on to Willard.
