  • 77 Rose St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
A square cap for some type of pipe was dislodged in front of 77 Rose St by a car, upturning it and causing a hazard and exposing type. This is within the gravel recently laid as part of the construction. The gravel was very very loose when I reset the cap.
  • Fairmount St & Prospect Pkwy Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric

This was reported a few weeks ago but is still a problem. A large orange traffic barrel was placed at the intersection of Prospect Parkway and Fairmount Street a few weeks ago. No one in the neighborhood knows why it is there or who put it there.

Every day someone removes it and puts it on the side of the road, although recently they have taken to throwing it into the neighbor's yard. Then someone else puts it back, and the cycle repeats the next day.

Does this barrel serve a purpose? If it's for traffic calming that's great, but it's not effective. There needs to be a better solution.

Owner of property continually blows leaves into road, instead of keeping on property or bagging them. These leaves end up downhill and cause sewer grate coverage and flooding during rain events.
  • 41-99 Booth St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Two long steel sign supports left over from the street work done at the intersection of North and North Willard have been left abandoned on the grass in Pomeroy Park at the corner of Booth and North Streets. I think some young people proved their strength by pulling them out of the ground, perhaps stole the Road Work Ahead orange sign, but left the steel posts on the ground in the park. The sign posts have been there for a couple of weeks.

There is a subsurface stream in the Ruggles House senior Residence front yard. It empties onto the sidewalk, causing thick sheets of ice and/or water flow when it's not freezing. I believe the solution is to insert a grate between the expansion joints in the sidewalk and install some underground drainage pipe so the water flows under the sidewalk via pipe and comes to air on the vertical face of the curb.

This issue is not actually resolved - even though I got a notice that it's been closed! Two people can not pass each other on this stretch of sidewalk.
  • 40 Wright Ave Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
There were 11 bikes parked at the end of Wright Avenue today, where the staircase goes down to the little beach. Can you please add a few bike racks here? There is definitely a lot of demand for bike parking at this location. Thanks.

To Parks & Rec: please mow more of the area around the playground and entrance from the Grove St neighborhood. The weeds, sumac and other brush are reducing the usable size of the park. Neighborhood volunteers from the OEENC have cut back the bigger sumac so this are can be mowed and better maintained.
    Thank you!

180 Loomis St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Greenway needs to have stump rubble/volunteer trees removed and area regraded to level of adjacent greenway.
Early last summer a greenway tree was taken down/replaced near 180 Loomis. A few weeks later, DPW had the stump ground, leaving behind a large pile of stump grinding rubble. Area unsightly and difficult to mow.
