SpeedingReconnu40–86 Laurel Ave Kearny 07032, United States - KearnyThere are too many large trucks of all kinds going up Laurel Avenue to get to Kearny Avenue. There is a sign at the bottom of the hill clearly showing “NO TRUCKS”. Just the other day there was a oversized truck going up the hill and a KPD SUV right behind it without doing anything, seriously! Sometimes a truck has to stop to let the other truck pass because they both don’t fit at the same time on the street. It’s time for KPD to start doing something about it. This street is out of control between too many accidents and oversized trucks going up the hill on a regular basis.
This is an on going issue and has been mentioned many times before by other residents.

SpeedingReconnu76 Laurel Ave Kearny, NJ, 07032, USA - KearnyOnce again we had a tragedy on Laurel Avenue, a dog was hit and killed by a car, who I am told didn't even bother to stop. The more development on Passaic Avenue with all the new apartments and retail, the more traffic is coming into our local streets avoiding the traffic on Passaic Avenue and going to the Belleville Pike. Those of us who walk our dogs are crossing the streets often and it gets more and more difficult. We have been complaining about the speeding for a long time. Please something has to be done, a 4 way stop sign might help. The population of our town has grown, our traffic signs need to be updated. Washington, Laurel, Linden and Magnolia have become a fast way to avoid going to the Pike, especially Laurel being the first block to turn up from Passaic.

Also it is a safety issue for pedestrians crossing the street and cars trying to pull out of their driveway and parking spot. Is there a way we can get speed bumps, a children at play sign or slow down sign. This will be for the protection of the neighborhood to keep us all safe.

Not to mention the many times all the neighbors had to change their driver side mirrors due to cars hitting it and running away. It’s right next to a children's school and We are requesting if there can be speed bumps to let cars slow down at least at the school areas. Thank you. -
