  • 99 Florence Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
The apartment building at 99 Florence St has a large industrial AC unit in back (abutting Garnet St) running all the time that is *loud*. From approximately 150 ft away, inside my apartment, this noise reads over 60 decibels per my phone. The relevant municipal code (https://malden.municipalcodeonline.com/#book/mread?type=ordinances&name=10.04.020_NOISE_ABATEMENT;_DISTURBING_THE_PEACE_PROHIBITED) says noise over 50 decibels at the property line between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. is excessive and prohibited. From much further away and inside a building the decibel level is too high for nighttime according to the ordinance. Last summer when I made a complaint your office’s reply was effectively “this is the same level of noise as it’s been before” and I’m complaining again to say… so what? The noise was prohibited then, last summer, and remains so now. Please make the apartment building use an AC unit that is not excessively loud and disturbing to other Malden residents in their homes.
  • 294 Bainbridge Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5
People living at 294 Bainbridge Street were illegally digging up soil on the slope and saved it for their own garden thus causing all trees dead and trees roots exposed.
There are houses on top of the slope. Soils without trees grown into it will lead to landslides. That’s a serious violation.
  • 150-154 Forest St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5

I posted a complaint about a car speeding down Mt Vernon and through the crosswalk onto Forest Street last night. I was luckily not in the crosswalk but the car didn't even slow down and absolutely would have hit a pedestrian if someone was in the crosswalk. Malden PD had an SUV parked in the cemetery entrance across the street, seemingly for instances just like this.

Lt Tuxbury closed and blocked my ticket for "unsubstantiated" claims. My only claim was that there was a car speeding through a crosswalk right in front of a police car and nothing happened.

I was pretty upset and sad at Malden PD's reaction this morning but decided to take no further action. I'm adding this ticket as I see now that Tuxbury is being rude elsewhere on this site so I figured I'd add to the list, since I cannot comment on that other open ticket.

To Lt Tuxbury: Not everyone feels safe going to the police to report poor police behavior, which is why we come to this website and report anonymously.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO THE BOARD OF HEALTH.

My building hasn't been cleaned in months. The common areas and the grounds are filthy and unkept. I have attached photos, but an visual inspection would be more effective.

    - The common areas, floors and stairs are covered wit food, liquid and debris from the top to the bottom level. The floors and stairs need to be swept and mopped.

    - There's trash on the front stairs and the grounds around the building are unkept and littered with trash. The bushes need to be trimmed along the walkway/side of the building. There's abandoned furniture near the dumpster.

    - There is overcrowding in the units: There are 4 adults, a teen, a child and a baby on the way in apt #6 which is a [1] bedroom. They are causing a lot of noise which directly effects my quite enjoyment. I have noticed multiple tenants living in other units as well and with young children although the building is not deleaded.

    - The washing machines need maintenance and have been down for months.

    - There are tenants (unit #6 to be exact) smoking in the common areas and inside their unit which is filling up my unit with smoke and disturbing my quite enjoyment.

I need the light bulb replaced at my front door. It was removed for days and then replaced with a dead bulb! It is pitch black at my front door and I wouldn't know if someone was lurking around. It is very dangerous!

    - There is no contact info/signage on the building stating who are the owners.

I kindly request an inspection of my building as the photos do not do justice as to how filthy the property really is.

    Thank you.

  • 257 Pearl Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 2

I’m not writing to complain about the church’s noise on Sundays. However, every Wednesday at 9 am, someone goes inside the church and completely BLASTS the PA system inside for 4 hours straight. Whether they are yelling in the mics or playing music, it’s unbelievably loud and completely disruptive for people in the surrounding homes--especially since WFH has been so prevalent these days. All of my windows can be closed and I can literally feel the vibrations in my home because of it.

In addition to the noise, tons of vehicles park on the illegal side of Pearl St. and adjacent roads until 1 or 2pm on Sundays and have been known to block roadways and driveways. It’s a huge safety hazard.

  • 25 Whipple Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
Nearly every night for the past week there's been an incredibly pungent odor outside. I can best approximate it as deep fried food and cilantro. It's keep-your-windows-closed bad and has become a real nuisance. What's happening? I'm used to the regular Malden smells of Piantedosi and coffee roasting, but this is quite chemically and really terrible.

Can you please explain why if City Hall is open until 5pm why the Engineering Office had the security screen at the customer counter closed at 4:30pm this afternoon and no staff in sight. Does the Engineering Department have different hours then the rest of City Hall? If so this should be published on the website.

This has gone too far. Human Poop. Human fecal matter. Between this and the asian man who comes outside every day to take a pee in the public parking lot. I have pictures. I cant do this anymore. I am hiring a PI to monitor columbia st. If the police and mayor wont do something i will. If you are pooing or peeing littering or doing illegal things the PI will see it. Im done. Action needs to be taken.
  • Fairlawn Avenue Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 4
There is some inconsiderate jerk who rides his extremely loud motorcycle around this neighborhood (Main st and Fairlawn, Wedgemere, Rosemont, Kenmore and Autumn) at the worst hours. He woke up the neighborhood this morning at 4 am and again just before 6 am. He usually heads left on Main st towards Melrose but sometimes heads into Malden. This is extremely frustrating and is interrupting quality of life in this neighborhood. I understand he’s allowed to ride his motorcycle but there have to be laws against making so much noise with it all the time. He’s too fast for me when I run outside to try to confront him. Can the police set up something to get a hold of him and explain that there are people with jobs in this area who need to sleep at night? I’m also sure that people with young kids don’t appreciate this jerk interfering with them getting a full night’s sleep. This has gone on for a while now, something has to be done.
  • 167 Kennedy Drive Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 8
Tenants in building 167 at Kenny drive, Malden, cannot order food, carry groceries to the door, pick or drop off anyone- everyday day after 5 and all throughout the weekend. Sometimes the office will forget to open the gate and tenants have to struggle to do basic things. We have been calling for months. The board of health.
The office pf compliance and city hall. I have called even the fire dept: because it is a safety hazard. Nothing is being done

61 Revere St Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 8
Even though address says 61 Revere St., this property is 42 Grant Rd. Fence blocks view of corner intersection making it dangerous to pull onto Revere St.
