City of Malden PLUS

Large amount of wet cement left in the crosswalk. I witnessed an older gentleman almost take a header on to the street this morning.

I see a lot of street re-paving going on around Altitude (Granada Highlands) area, and currently on Swan Street (off of Elwell). I live on Loomis Street, which is in pretty bad shape. It gets patched from time to time but the pavement really needs to be lifted and done over to repair it properly. Can the city send someone up to look at it while they are working in this area?

The sidewalk has been blocked off with jersey barriers where there is demolition going on at this location. However, there have not been any signs posted advising pedestrians that the sidewalk has been closed and they have to walk into the street to get around. This location is only a block from Malden Center and sees a fair amount of both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. There should be detours and signs to make this safe while construction is ongoing instead of just a free for all

There is a section of road and sidewalk in from of my house that are caving in. There are two, large growing holes. The road has been worked on for two weeks. The sidewalk was patched in asphalt not sections are caving in. The street where cars park is also caving in. I’m worried a car will get sick and someone could get hurt pretty hurt if they are walking and not watching f out for the holes.

There are several cars that drive up and down the street that are painfully loud. the exhaust systems must be above the legal noise limit. they drive up and down during the day and sometimes late at night. I am a Veteran with lousy hearing and I wear hearing aids. It literally hurts my ears when they drive by. is there something you can do? like post a cop and give them a ticket? everyone in the neighborhood complains about it. Thank you

From Broadway route 99 cars cut down to Mingo Street to Home Street to beat the light on Broadway especially from 7:00-9:00am and 2:00-4:00pm. We need a sign placed to state no turn at these times. This is a Safety issue.

Further look at the decayed foot bridge revealed that there are two granite edging serve the foot bridge, however, they are higher than the treat lumber in the middle, water stay on top of the treat lumber for long time, the trap water caused the treated lumber decayed prematurely. Normally even the above ground type will last more than ten years for ground contact use. The trapped water on the foot bridge caused the treated wood deteriorated prematurely.
Contractor used the wrong type of decking boards for the foot bridge,. They need to be replaced. with ground contact type treated wood. and provide better drainage for the foot bridge.
City of Malden should hire professional contractor to do work, not just the amateur contractor via connection. He knows nothing about the different type treated woods. and about proper installation.
Another example, someone hired an amateur contractor installed the granite curbs for the pond without back fill support and rebar to stable the granite curb. Now those granite curbs are falling apart and fell into the pond.

Cars park lining both sides of the street on Lyme St to smoke marihuana at all hours. Children and the public can't even use the park for the same reasons. All lights in the park area are out of order.
The area is pitch black after sundown. The walk ways, the skate park and the streets around the park are dangerously dark.
