The lanes on Winter Street need to be properly marked. When cars are traveling from Glenwood or Washington Street onto Winter Street, there are two lanes but they are not marked as to which one is for going straight. I travel this road every day and more times than I can count, cars will use the right lane to go straight, creeping up on the inside of cars in the left lane who are also going straight. The right lane ends at the intersection of Banks Place where there is also a crosswalk that is heavily used. Some simple signage or painted markings on the lanes would be very helpful to prevent car accidents and pedestrian strikes. Also, you may want to station a police car in the area of the apartment buildings, as many cars cross the double yellow line to drive on the wrong side of the road to turn onto Autumn Street when traffic is backed up. This makes for a very dangerous situation. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
  • Lebanon Street Malden, MA - Malden Ward 6
Install a "Mirror" at the bend of Lebanon Street approaching the intersection of Lebanon Street and Valley Street.

I know the barrels were supposed to be for testing whether the city wanted to put in an island, but after the first week (2 years ago no?) the people that go up to Swains Pond Rd just moved the barrels to suit their own needs. Now they're just in the middle of the road - can we just get rid of them?
  • 185 Pearl St Malden MA 02148, United States - Malden Ward 2

Hello, is there anyway possible that Pearl Street can be striped down the middle to help people know where that middle is? I drive this daily because of where my house is and it is extremely dangerous. I have plenty of car dashcam recordings if you’d like to see them. Sometimes around Piza Pizzaa, people don’teven know that it is a two-way road. Other times, people do butthey drive down the middle of the road. When I drive southbound, I have even hit the curb because I had to hug it so hard with cars barreling at me 40+mph down the center honking as they go. Please consider extending the striping for Saint Rocco’s festival.

Additionally, I am seeing zero speed limit posted on Pearl Street.

People drive this back road because of so few traffic signals but it is getting very dangerous with the excessive speeding and not knowing it is a two-way road, nor where the middle is. Thank you!

  • Glen St & Glenwood St Malden, Massachusetts, 02148 - Malden Ward 3

Hello! I have noticed outline markings all the way up Glenwood Street as the city prepares to repaint the road lane markings and sidewalk crossings (thank you for this, we really need them back!)

The crosswalk markings that cross Glenwood Street at Glen Street may have been missed in the preparation. I don't see any outline markings, though they have been made at other points up Glenwood on either side of Glen St.

Would really appreciate the city double checking that these crosswalks will painted back, as well. I walk to school with my 3 and 8 year olds, and it's a very busy road. Thank you.

  • Main St & Winter St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
This intersection is incredibly dangerous for pedestrian traffic. The walk sign is a joke, it takes up to 5 minutes for it to go on after pushing. It doesn't interrupt the cycle, the lights go for at least one more full cycle before the walk sign comes on. It's ironic that it's right next to a "Malden walks" sign, since this is such a poorly designed intersection it's truly frightening to cross on foot.
  • 430 Eastern Avenue Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5
Thanks goodness motoring public is a concern (sarcasm) where it’s so foggy today the town has neglected to paint “fog lines” and lane lines and nobody can maintain their lanes. It’s ok though because bike lanes are visible and the tax payers who pay for road repairs and to drive on these roads lose more lanes to drive on so all of like 6 bikes a day can use an entire lane to drive on state roads.
  • Eastern Avenue - From The Intersection Of Route 60 To Cross St. Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 6
All the crosswalks at intersections within my neighborhood were not repainted this past spring/summer. Eastern Ave is a very busy road, we have schools in the area, and personally I am a legally blind pedestrian. Its unfortunate the community never addressed this basis community safety concern athis past sumer. Please give this matter your attention. Thak you, Bob Cushing
  • 184 Charles St Malden MA 02148, United States - Malden Ward 1
Wondering if there are plans to paint Charles Street from Commercial Street to Main Street? Almost daily cars are trying to pass each other from the lights at both the intersection of Commercial and Canal streets. The road is just wide enough for 2 cars BUT it isn't two lanes and ppl treat it like one. There should also be a left turn only signal and lane at both directions of Charles at Commercial Street, there are near miss accidents there daily, it is a very dangerous area and needs addressing.
  • 181-257 Pierce Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 5

I was almost hit again this week by someone taking a right turn onto Pierce Street at the end of the intersection, going into the one-way portion after the island.

I wrote a ticket about this months ago after the last time I was almost hit, about a week after seeing another accident at the exact same spot. I don't think the ticket was even acknowledged, and I can't find it in the search to see if there have been any updates. I know it's winter and there's construction and pot holes so I'm not expecting anything right away, but I just hope this ticket gets some kind of visibility before it disappears again, and at least other residents should be cautious when they make the final bend on Pierce going towards Forest Street, that there may be oncoming vehicles because drivers do not have the appropriate signage/signals/painted lanes to make road rules intersection safe. Also, crosswalks somewhere would help. I don't think there are any that cross Forest Street between Lebanon and Main.

  • 599r Lynn St Revere 02151, United States - Malden
There is a crosswalk there, but sadly no one follows the laws and stops when there is someone waiting to cross. It may be in partly because no one knows there is a crosswalk there. I, as well as many commuters who use the crosswalk to cross the street after getting off the bus find it unsafe. Im writing this right now because I nearly got hit earlier after getting off the bus. I was lawfully crossing on the crosswalk but I feel like the Driver may have not been aware of the crosswalk there (perhaps also distracted). If by any chance the city of Malden can place a yellow crosswalk/pedestrian sign (there is already one a block down on Lynn street towards Revere St & Oliver St intersection, placing one more won’t hurt). While the risk is still there, at-least drivers will become more aware of the crosswalk and as well as following the law.
  • Salem St. At Main St. Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 4
I think perhaps the "left on green arrow only" sign at the intersection of Main and Salem streets needs to be larger or more visible, or the light/traffic pattern adjusted somehow. I cross the street here at least twice daily on my way to and from the T, and cars continue to turn left on the red arrow, ignoring this sign and despite the walk signal. I don't think I've ever crossed without almost being hit.
