    I am requesting new trees on Henry Street between Mills & Rich Streets also on Mills Street between Henry & Ferry Streets. There were trees at these locations at one time that were removed. Thank you for your consideration as we try to beautify this neighborhood.

    The other day I noticed Malden DPW doing work in the area between 18 Playstead and Hyde. I'm not sure if this is actually City land, but if it is it would be great if a small tree could be planted. Currently the area is overrun with Tree of Heaven.

    In general Playstead and the surrounding streets suffer from lack of tree cover due to the narrow sidewalks and National Grid aggressively cutting trees under the high power wires. Combine that with the charter school's artificial turf field to the west, the artificial turf coming to Roosevelt in the east, Salem St to the north, and Eastern Ave to the south and you have a hot street!
