Street Flooding: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11354 Lake Cypress Loop Fort Myers, FL, 33913, USA - GatewayThe new lights along Griffin are incredibly bright. They need to be covered so they are not so blinding. Where my house is located, I have two lights shining directly into it.

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged12759 Fairington Way Fort Myers, Florida, 33913 - GatewayThese 4 street lights shine intrusively into our lanai and home. We request deflectors be installed to prevent that from happening.

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11360 Lake Cypress Loop Fort Myers, FL, 33913, USA - GatewayThe new street lights on griffin silverlakes side- are insanely bright. They shine into everyone’s homes here in cypress cay. Can we please change the intensity or put a cap on the lights so they don’t shine into homes? I’ve lived here ten years and have never seen anything like this.

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11878 Grand Isles Ln Fort Myers, Florida, 33913 - GatewayThe new lighting that has been installed in Gateway Greens is offensively bright and creating a major problem. There are 2 lighting poles( north and south end of my property facing Westlink, The numbers on both poles are, PCS 30 SU 9 23 24 FPL)that are shining directly into my backyard, lanai pool area and back of my house, that are lit up like a football field from 6pm to 6:30am. The harsh lighting shines thru our window covering and makes it impossible to sleep or even sit in our family room and enjoy our television due to lighting blaring thru our windows.
( yes we do have blinds and shades that are of no value in blocking the brightness) The installation of the new poles is not only disrupting our life , it is also effecting the value of our property. Who is going to want to live in the middle of a football field or next to major highway lighting?
We absolutely need some help in rectifying this problem -

We are experiencing a very big problem with the new FPL light in front of our house. We are having trouble sleeping! I've been in contact with FPL to either lower the amount of lumens coming out of the light in front of our house or place a shield on it. They told me they will work on it, but offered no specific solution. As you can see from the picture, our house is bathed in light that is also lighting up our bedrooms and other rooms in the house. Our sleep is being disturbed and this is unacceptable.
The lights are similar to those used on major highways and not private streets. As a matter of fact, they are at least twice as bright as those on Gateway Blvd !
I've asked our Gateway Greens HOA Board to get involved to find out if any other residents are having similar problems and concerns since multiple voices may get a better response than just my voice.

This is a follow up to my regarding the extreme brightness of the new street light. I spoke with Shannon from FPL street light department and was informed that this is what the District ordered and there is nothing FPL can do about it unless ordered and paid by the District.
They said that the District can have the light removed, shaded, or different light output. They said that the District is responsible for payment of any changes.
This decision by the Gateway CDD has severely impacted the enjoyment we've had for years living in Gateway Greens. Light is shining into our house making it difficult to sleep. Bugs are clinging to our exterior walls that face the light. I can no longer enjoy looking at the stars and planets since the bright light has washed out the sky.
I would appreciate that Gateway CDD have the light turned off until a better remedy can be found.

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11825 Grand Isles Ln Fort Myers, Florida, 33913 - GatewayI live at 11825 Grand Isles Ln in Gateway Greens. The light installed on Westlink across from 11781 Westlink is blaring into my lanai - see attached photo. Can the intensity of the light be reduced or a shield put up to direct the glare?

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11470 Persimmon Ct Fort Myers, Florida, 33913 - GatewayI am requesting that the light outside my house, both front and back now have a blinder put on to direct the light out of my house. I am not able to sleep well since the lights have been put in with the over abundance of light entering my house. My kids have not slept well either which is more cause for concern. It seems as no thought was given to the houses affected beyond the entrance walls to Gateway Greens. Something needs to be done about this light situation. Please inform me what steps are being taken to address this major issue.

Street Lighting: PW-Public WorksAcknowledged11516 Mahogany Run Fort Myers, Florida, 33913 - GatewayWho is in charge of installing the new much higher light poles on Gateway greens dr and championship dr?
Well there is a terrible bright light shining into our home now.Looks like a Friday night football game brightness.
The pictures do not fully show how terrible the one at the corner is.Does not go straight down and is not the solar bulb like original and looks to be 15/20 f t higher than original poles.
.? Why was this changed and approved? -
