    Water from Hazelton Ave again overflowed at 3:30am this morning into the Backyards of 36, 40 and 46 Beaufort Ave. In a matter of minutes the backyards were completely overwhelmed with water. Water entered finished basements.

    Homeowners had to use industrial grade surface pump exiting by fire size hose to remove water from back yard.

    This is the sixth occurrence of the overflow that has been reported to the town since 2011. Three of the six occurrences have happened in the last 5 months so the problem is increasing in its frequency.

    Photo shows the depth of water reached against 46 Beaufort’s foundation.

    The same overflow happened and damaged homes in 2011 during Hurricane Irene, 2013, 2016, and August 8, 2023 and Dec 18,2023.

    Noticed that the rain gutter on the Admiral Gracey side of the new building were dripping to the ground. A few spot along the building ground level were starting to show mold growth. I noticed this dripping about 8:30 a.m. while the building side was in the shade. Not sure if downspouts are functioning
