Thanks.... in addition to empathy for the person, it shows a high level of neglect and disrespect from City employees and officials who should be monitoring these high-profile areas...AS THEY DRIVE BY.

Another interesting Target is the shop called clothes connection next to the Elbow room. A generous display of X-rated shirts and clothing... It's never been addressed to my knowledge.

The City also knows there are between nine and 15++ "campers" living on the beach nightly from the Maren Hotel North about 4 blocks. Daily and nightly Hygiene "evidence", aggressive open street begging, and other actions contrary to the investments and market positioning of this beach. Further, I have walked this beach since 1983 and I would hope someone, someday, well Elevate this beach experience with aggressive police deterrence and enforcement and sustain it! I have an enormous collection of photos that I will not release due to privacy issues, but any day, about any time, if you watch closely, you will see what our tourists, residents, and business owners have to deal with every day. Further, what our tourists/families (non-Spring Breakers) witness.
Since 1983, I have not seen any sustained management and elevation of this beach experience! Isn't it time? What are you waiting for....why isn't this done? No excuses...

I realize this is not your role and responsibility, but I think I speak for a all Island residents and tourists who expect a higher level of experience in management by the City.

Don't believe me, let's go for a walk! Thanks

Maybe a new city manager will have a greater sense of urgency, but it won't be immediately and in the meantime, this Beat Goes On!

Best wishes.... oh the next time you want to go shopping, check out the "Clothes Connection" next to the Elbo Room. Leave the kids at home because the collection of apparel in the window and visible from the street is X-rated.

    Renee,

I am trying to reach (via phone and/or email) the Police precinct that covers the Harbor Isles (Breakwater Surf Club) area. A neighbor this morning, after being alerted by a resident of one of our neighboring condos, followed a car that was taking photos of several houses (apparently those that did NOT have trash cans outside - indicating possible empty houses) in our neighborhood.

When our neighbor approached the driver (in his 30s) and asked if he could help, the driver first said that he needed instructions on how to leave the development; when asked why he was taking photos of the houses, he first said that he was "an Uber driver" and then said "he just liked the houses". When our neighbor started taking a photo of the car, the driver tried to block (unsuccessfully) the license plate.

I tried calling the central police (non-emergency) number and was given a second number that, basically, after listening to eight different options, sent me back to the first number.

Any help with contacting the correct precinct/station that covers our area would be highly appreciated!

    All the best,

    John

I recently submitted a report of illegal parking and dangerous sight triangle obstruction and the report was closed without the issue being resolved. Cars are still regularly parked in the no parking zone and also blocking view of oncoming traffic at an intersection where a student was recently struck by a vehicle. This is also extremely dangerous for cars trying to cross the intersection as they are unable to see oncoming traffic without pulling halfway into the intersection to see past the illegally parked vehicles
