Nantucket DPW PLUS

We stay each year at 55 Madaket Road --- and the bushes along the north side of Madaket -- generally from 53 Madaket Rd to Crooked Lane cause poor vision for drivers as they approach Crooked Lane. Their is a slight curve on this stretch causing poor visibility.
The bushes have been trimmed many times --- so, they are now so thick and woody the branches are impossible to trim short of using mechanized trimmers--- pruning shears don't work anymore!

Any effort to trim back the bushes on this stretch would be most appreciated ---and this would improve driver visibility on Madaket --- as well as Crooked lane.

The bushes have overgrown and causing a safety hazard as they have grown past the white line on the road. It is hazardous to pedestrians as it forces them out into the street.

Please note the call came from Melinda Burns at the Nantucket police department. A concerned citizen reported it to her.

Please remove these stakes from public property This is an ongoing issue in this entire neighborhood It is an obvious safety concern if a car hit one of these and impaled an occupant Who is liable in case of vehicle damage or personal injury here with private property owners installing obstacles on public property

The overgrown trees and fencing is preventing the Sewer Dept to access the control panel which is needed in case of an emergency.

There is an overgrown bush on the left corner of the town owned driveway that prevents people on either side of them from being able to see oncoming traffic. Can this be cut back?

Corner hedge violation

The owners of 24B Sankaty Road have an impeded sight line as they back out of their driveway. This is due to the neighbors who have their electrical meter on a wooden panel outside of their hedges. Then they have hedges to block the view of the meter. However, the hedges become overgrown with time. Is it possible to have the neighbors move their meter to the inside of the hedges to keep the sightlines clear? Feel free to call or email with any questions.
