The people at 9 washington avenue leave their four to five small dogs locked on their small outdoor porch most of the days and nights. The temperatures are well below freezing right now and they're always outside.

I saw a fox in the road. He did not look healthy. This is the second time I've seen a fox in this area within the last few weeks, both times in the morning. I know there are small kids who live on the street who play outside.

A dog ('the brown dog') that lives about 4 houses down from me, 2129 Northampton Street 2nd Floor, attacked my dog on Christmas night. I was walking my dog on a leash, the owner of the brown dog opened his apartment door and let his dogs out and the brown one came charging across the street and attacked my dog. It was a serious, vicious dog fight and it is the second time this has happened, with my dog being on a leash going for a walk, and the brown dog being loose in his yard and flying out to attack my dog. I was at the emergency vet for 5 hours on Christmas night as my dog got a serious gash in her belly. I don't know the name of the dog owner, but I put the vet bill under his door and he did call the vet clinic and pay it. But I can't have that dog living here anymore, because I walk by their house 2x a day when I take my dog for a walk and I can't risk another vicious attack on my dog. I would like someone to go talk to the guy that lives at 2129 Northampton Street 2nd floor and get back to me as to a resolution. I don't want the dog put down, but I don't want it at the end of my street.

There are multiple signage violations at this business. I talked to an employee about taking down the large beer ads hanging outside the building and they said they would a week ago, but it hasn't happened. It just keeps getting worse with multiple violations and looks really bad in a residential neighborhood with residences across the street.

What a h e double hockey sticks hole! Holyokes own Gitmo.. So where are all these variances for this kind of fencing filed? And why does everyone in government think these guys are untouchable? Places with high standards of living don't treat children this way, even insurance companies know male brains aren't fully developed until 25. Ohh I'm sure the white kids pass right by this place.

    Falling rock wall,
Looks much worse in person. And now looks like it's further out and cracks are bigger. Protrudes over half the side walk on the verge of falling over. Second time reported never heard back from the first time.

This building (and 211 Walnut St) has changed status from regular multifamily residential to providing emergency shelter and services inside the building in an office. In a community meeting, the building owner said that there is not a wired fire alarm, but regular battery operated alarms. This is very concerning to me as a neighbor because it is so close to other houses and could cause serious damage if it burns. And, I'm worried about the people being housed in these buildings who don't have a choice because they have been placed there. At least the hotels had sprinklers! His other building on Main St. burned down and people died-- I'm afraid of something like that happening here, especially when there are no wired fire alarms at this one. Also, is it a new use of the building for the non-profit to provide services there and maintain an office in it? Wouldn't that be commercial? The non-profit occupying it also indicated that there are multiple families (previously strangers) housed together in the apartments in some cases. Is that not considered a boarding house? I tried to address these issues with my city councilor, but it's a complicated issue that I haven't been able to get answers about. So, I'm posting it here in hopes that the fire dept can look into the situation and perhaps require the building owner to do some upgrades to be able to have these new types of uses of the building. Thank you.
