HEAVEY BUSHES & BRUSH WITH THORNS BEING GROWN ON PUBLIC SIDE WALK . IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO WALK AND NARROWS THE SIDEWALK & CAUSES PEDESTRIANS TO WALK ON THE STREET . This home owner is using the sidewalk as a extension of his property . This is not being maintained for the public use . If it's ok to plant on a road verge, then I would gladly entertain the idea & and utilize my road verge & spread the word .Please have this removed .Do we have to wait for something bad to happen before this is taken care of ? It's bad enough since all the new condos and apartments have been constructed & main street traffic is now 2 lanes this street has been become a 1/4 mile race way for all the new peeps to rush down but thats another issue that will needs to be addressed . Times have changed and the taxes keep going up . Officials need to stop feeling defeated and playing politics & take action . Please take action . Thank you !

My neighbor has neglected his pool for at least 5 years, which has created an environmental hazard. The standing water is a stagnant cesspool, with many mosquitos breeding in it. I report this previously but I don't think anything was done. I have a newborn baby now, and with reports of West Nile Virus in the area I would like something to be done about this.

  • Franklin St And Grove St. Reading, Massachusetts - Reading
The utility pole on Grove St. at the very end of Franklin St. continues to bend at dramatic angles due to heavy weight of utility lines. This pole is severely overstressed and needs to be replaced to avoid a significant loss of power. It is very dangerous.

Gas project contractor sought access this a.m. to backyard at 15 Puritan. Meter disconnected per pic from backyard. Contractor never said he needed interior access. Contractor later left note with phone number and upon my wife calling, there is an auto message that the phone line is not in service. We are beyond upset with the contractor and we ask if the town can demand that the contractor come back and reconnect so that my family can have heat, a working stove ti cook dinner, and hot water tonight.

Hello, most nights per week, at approximately 10:50-11pm, a very heavy train passes and the house shakes for about 45 seconds. This train is either too heavy or going too fast. It’s not a commuter MBTA train. It is something much heavier. I’m fearful of house damage to tile and granite, etc. Please advise.

754 Pearl Street Reading, MA, 01867, USA - Reading
Raccoon and possible racoon family is terrorizing my family making our yard unusable. Racoons are hanging out in town storm water culvert for hours at time, possibly nesting there or nearby. Racoon is not afraid of people or pets. Conventional deterrent methods (moth balls, ammonia, bungees on barrels) are ineffective. Not living on our property. Photos available upon request.

136 Haven St Reading MA 01867, United States - Reading
It would be very helpful, and much safer if there were a crosswalk on Haven Street close to the post office. There is no crosswalk anywhere from Main Street to Atlantic Way and with the post office, residences, banks, offices, and restaurants, there is a good amount of foot traffic here and it can be dangerous to cross. This would help make the town be more walker-friendly and possibly decrease parking downtown if there was a better spot to cross in this busy area. Thanks for considering. fe
  • Oakland Rd & Parkview Rd Town of Reading, MA, 01867, USA - Reading
Can the town review this location for a crosswalk? It's a dangerous section of road. Crossing Oakland at the bottom of Parkview is very common. However, this location is dangerous as Oakland crests at this point so cars coming down Oakland toward Longfellow cannot see pedestrians crossing. It is also a very common section of road for speeding. Can the town please review?
  • New Crossing Rd & Walkers Brook Dr Reading, Massachusetts - Reading
The pedestrian signals at the intersection of New Crossing Rd & Walkers Brook Dr in Reading are not functioning efficiently. They are either missing or are askew so they are very difficult to see. In addition there is no audio sound to alert you that it's safe to cross. I'd appreciate it if this issue could be resolved quickly . Thank you.

The dumpster service at Calareso's is emptying the dumpsters prior to town guidelines of 6am. On 5/18 and 5/19 it was 3am, on 5/12 it was 4am, 5/5 4:07am, 5/1 4:02am. This is an ongoing issue, and the typical times are between 3 and 4am. This property is surrounded on 3 sides by residences, and this is inconsiderate to the residents in the area. Please inform the owners or the dumpster service of the problem so this can be addressed.

I am writing to request "no idling" signs similar to those posted in the Birch Meadow neighborhood near route 129. Cars, delivery trucks, and other vehicles routinely stand for hours idling in the area adjacent to Hunt Park. This is unhealthy, especially near a public park with youth sport and homes, contributes continual noise to the neighborhood, and is unsafe. Please address this subject before the Eaton Street construction project gets underway. (That project is NOT adjacent to Hunt Park.)
