City of Salem PLUS

Cars on Marlboro Rd block the intersection when the light is red, so those trying to turn from McGrath Park or from Osborne Hill Dr cannot enter the intersection when they have a green light. This especially happens during high traffic times. Can a sign be placed stating “Do not block intersection”, or lines painted on the street such as in other intersections on Marlboro Rd?

When crossing Congress street from Destination Salem to the Waterfront hotel, the pedestrian signals are not activated when you press the button. Please address quickly as lots of kids cross here. Thanks

traffic light at corner of Lafayette and Harbor is stuck on green one way, red the other, so people are having to run red light, crossing traffic, during busy rush hour (7:10 am on Thurs Mar 21).. this happens about once a week around the same time. should be looked into

Pedestrian crossing is on for every cycle. Causing traffic back up.

The traffic lights at Hawthorne Hotel… Main st pub are flashing…. Very dangerous to cross.

Left turn signals triggering ALL of the time, slowing traffic unnecessarily

The traffic lights at Bridge and St. Peter's Street and the one just north of it at the Bridge St. Extension seem to now have long pedestrian holds even when there are no pedestrians and traffic is backing up. It seems unnecessary.

We understand that Bridge Street is a major throughway. However, Bridge Street is also a heavily residential area. Many of the trucks that drive through use their engine breaks resulting in excessive noise for the homes and Leslie’s Retreat Park. Could signs be posted banning the use of engine breaks in this residential area. This would ensure more happier residents and visitors to the park.
