City of Salem PLUS

There is a large dead tree branch hanging over Pleasant street (the branch hangs right over the street in front of 5 pleasant street). If it comes down it will be very dangerous and could do damage to people, cars, and power lines that are under it at the time.

We were wondering if we could request a tree branch trimming for the silver maple in front of our house. Specifically, there is a branch that is encroaching on the house, which, in addition to becoming a contact risk, it has secondarily acted as an access point for squirrels.

Resident stated the tree is overhanging her house and insurance said they will cancel her insurance if it is not trimmed.

We have contacted by Click Fix and called the city about trees for 6+ months. We were told we were in the que to get our trees cut back. There are 2 trees over our house that hit the roof and causing damage to our roof. We had 1 leak already because of it and we need to get the roof re-done. Also the debris from the what the tree drops, leaves, moisture is also damaging the roof and causing problems. We would like the city to cut the limbs over the house back as much as they can.

Prune away dead wood

Preliminary inspection completed. Trunk issues. Cavity. Deadwood. Mushrooms. Tree pit area issues. We will be pruning away the deadwood, removing crab grass and remediating soil to improve the tree pit area. Will reinspect to see if remediation efforts make an impact.

I have a general question regarding dead branches on trees lining chestnut street There a a few large dead branches on the oak trees outside my house along chestnut street (which my assumption is belong to the city) These overhang the road and my driveway Is the city responsible for having these dead branches trimmed before they fall or is it the homeowners responsibility? This tree is the middle one of three in front of 25-27 Buffum St.
In the heavy winds the tree split on the major upper branch. I’m concerned that it will split further down the main trunk and we will lose the tree. It would be great to get it trimmed before it gets worse.

A growing section of this tree is dying (no leaves, dead branches) resulting in branches falling on cars parked underneath this tree.....very aggravating. Over time the tree has been slowing leaning towards the street resulting in my lawn being raised due to roots lifting. The curb stone is broken due to the tree leaning towards the street. If we get a storm with high winds this tree has a good chance of falling and taking out power lines.
A separate tree right next to it is 90% dead. This tree borders my neighbors and my property. It also has issues with good size branches falling on parked cars. A month ago a Salem tree employee (working alone) was in the neighborhood pruning some trees and he advised I call the city because the tree was dead. He suspected that gas lines buried in the street may have been the culprit in killing these tress. The tree and about 20 feet high and may have a 15 inch tree trunk width.

City tree is over grown and now touching the roof/siding of 33 Lafayette Pl please cut back for safety.
