    This is my third post regarding this matter. On my previous two attempts, the response I received indicated that the tree is on private property. However, the trees along Larch and Locust Streets serve as a replacement for sidewalks, which makes them city-owned trees. In fact, the city has already removed one tree from my property due to its poor health. I reached out to the Tree Commission about the tree located in front of my garage, and I was informed that it is indeed a city tree. I was also told that I do not have permission to remove it, and if I proceed with its removal, I will be subject to a fine. The tree pictured is not healthy. Large branches have fallen directly onto the street. A few months back, a huge portion of the tree split off altogether. I am concerned about my home as well as people walking in the area.

    A request to remove this dead tree was made on May 17 along with a request to replace it. It is still under warranty with the City of Salem. It appears as if the initial request was closed and archived. No one has come to inspect it yet. Please advise status. Thank you.

    We would love and take care of watering needs for a tree planted in front of 27 Northey st. We were approved some years ago and even had dig safe come by last spring but no tree was planted.

    The photo is from today, July 30. Both trees were planted by the city about 12 years ago and the one on the right began with greenish leaves this spring but then through the summer has changed color. I have watered both city trees during our heat waves this summer - numerous times. Is it nutrient deficient? If it can be reinvigorated - that would be great. But if it is truly dying then I would greatly appreciate having the tree replaced - hopefully during the fall planting season. Thank you.
