The traffic light and the walk signals are misdirected. The ones I'm talking about are nearest the old court house. The walk signs are pointed at the drivers, not the pedestrians wanting to cross that lane. The traffic lights on that pole may be facing onto the grass area rather than along the path the approaching cars are on. It's also a bit strange that the light is on the far side of a tree from the cars, which will only serve to block their view of it.

People often run the red light on north st at mason st intersection. Very unsafe for pedestrians. I was in the crosswalk a few days ago and 5 cars(!) went through the red light. The crossing guard in the afternoons told me he’s been nearly hit multiple times. Can a cop ever monitor it or can a camera be put on the light? Someone is def going to be hit or a bad accident. I figure nothing will be done tho as this is also a big issue on Lafayette and other busy streets.

PSA. So I have done some research on the newer traffic light systems. Most of the newer ones are using cameras to see your vehicle. Sometimes they fall out of adjustment due to the mast getting hit by wind etc. I find it helpful if you are the first car in the line to pull right up to the line so it triggers the cycle. In theory it should see you but it depends on how the imaginary boxes were set up in the lane to detect vehicles.

The traffic signal on North St, near Woodside & Oakland is taking too long for pedestrian signal to cross to come on. I cross here regularly, sometimes pressing 3 times before it stops traffic. Not working in timely fashion. Schools out soon and not a safe spot for children, as many will think not working. Definitely a safety issues. Need to speed up time once light pressed.

The timing of the southbound light on highland Ave at Marlborough road was recently changed to be too short, having traffic up all the way to willson Ave. It is now taking at least a half hour to travel a mile.
