City Street SignsOtwarteLafayette St @ Palmer St Salem, MA 01970, USA - City of Salemthere needs to be a street light or a pedestrian crossing light here. in the winter it is very dark to cross even with the gas station there. this year alone I have almost been hit by a car 4 times and had even more cars not yield to me standing by the crosswalk. one lady tonight yelled at me and blamed me for wearing darker clothes. I was coming from home from work and unfortunately I don't wear reflective or day glow orange for headlights to see me.

Salem High School - City of SalemThere are many outdoor lights that are not on at high school. Kids are coming out from practices and walking down the exit road and it is dark. Very hard to see at night and then you have kids walking around because of sports and school activities. It would be nice to have all the outdoor lights on at the high school when it is dark for safety reasons. And to prevent illegal activities as well.

65 New Derby Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of SalemThe lighting downtown esp. New Derby, Riley Plaza, Norman St., etc. is insufficient. The decorative light poles do not shine down onto the roads, crosswalks, etc. The glare makes it worse. Very dangerous year round but even more so now. Hard to see pedestrians and jaywalkers.

10 Puritan Rd Salem 01970, United States - City of SalemCould we please have a light put on pole 4822. It’s very dark in this section as the light from Berkinshaw way and then the next ones down does not help illuminate this area. It’s extremely dark for pedestrians who are walking on that side of the street.

Bridge St & March St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of SalemThe traffic light at the section of Bridge Street and March Street is broken and has been for some time. Cars drive very quickly here and this makes it very difficult to cross the street safely.

To Whom It May Concern,
There are several streetlights along the pedestrian walkway on Ayumbe Memorial Bypass Road are currently not functioning. This creates unsafe conditions for pedestrians during the evening and night hours, as the walkway is left in darkness.
I kindly request that the issue be inspected and repaired at the earliest convenience to ensure the safety of all who use the walkway.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

42.51699 -70.90304 - City of SalemThis intersection is incredibly dangerous and does not have clear or strong street lights and signage so drivers know when the lights are red for pedestrians to cross. We’ve almost been hit crossing the street several times because drivers blatantly ignore the red light which can be difficult to see particularly during the day. We need to update this intersection to prioritize pedestrians NOT cars and make it very obvious when the lights are red for vehicles.

2 Chestnut Street Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of SalemAs a pedestrian who crosses the new Summer/Norman rotary, sometimes in the dark, to get to the train, this intersection/rotary is notoriously unsafe. But this problem pre-dates the rotary adjustments. On two occasions a car a has slowed down to let me cross and that car was then rear ended by the car behind them not paying attention. I can only assume that if this has occurred with me twice then it has happened to other people. This intersection desperately needs button-activated crossing lights for pedestrians, like what’s on Washington street in front of the Hampton Hotel. I am afraid that a pedestrian is going to be seriously injured crossing. In both my cases if I had started to cross when the first car slowed down for me, I would have been struck in the crosswalk once they were rear ended and lurched forward.
