Apparently truck drivers consistently ignore No Trucks signs on entrances to Broad and Dalton. This is one of many examples of the size of tractor trailers that routinely use Broad to avoid traffic lights and traffic circles near our neighborhood. We must have prominent signs at each entry and, most importantly, ENFORCEMENT!

There are NO speed limit signs going south from Salem Hospital all the way to the pedestrian bridge after Crowdis St. where there is a 35 mph sign. There is one 30 mph speed limit sign going south by Collins Middle School. One 30 mph sign fell down on the SW corner of Colby St. 3 years ago and has not been replaced! The speed limit is 30 mph on Highland Ave. from the pedestrian bridge going north but only one sign and not until you get to the Salem Hospital.
Result: Highland Ave. can be renamed "The Salem Speedway!"
Signs need to be posted every few blocks on this main north south road.
I would also suggest LOWERING the speed limit to 25 mph until the pedestrian bridge then up to 30 mph maximum to the Lynn line. Safety first! Many cars and trucks! also routinely go 45-50 when traffic is light....

This was originally posted back on 6/20/2020 and NO new speed limit signs have yet been installed. On 6/26/2020, Officer Dana Mazola was killed by a speeding car (going 55 mph in a 25 mph zone) on Jefferson Ave. Please take action to stop the speeding! Enough said.

    To whom it may concern.

There needs to be a quite zone sign outside of 403 & 405 Essex Street Salem since people make noise from the hours of 6:00A.M. to 11:00P.M.
Monday - Friday and there are people in the apartment building that are eldery and disabled that live in a private housing apartment building and also there are people in the apartment building that do work for a living where they sleep in the morning and also there are people in the building that would like peace & quite during those hours of the day and night and this has become a problem over the past couple of years and the city hasn't done anything about it so I hope something can happen soon.

    Thank you

  • Highland Ave & Valley St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
A no turn left sign needs to be placed at the stop sign. No one sees the one hanging over the street when stopped and the one across highland Ave on the water pump building is not visible during traffic and it's too far away no one notices it. Too many cars are still taking lefts from valley onto highland Ave
  • Albion St Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem
Sign Down at Albion St blocking Sidewalk
  • Pope St & Boston St Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem
The right turn only sign needs to be repainted and lowered along with the right turn arrow, which needs to be repainted also. Many near accidents when going left and trying to get over to the right lane to go right on Bridge St.
  • Franklin St & Foster St Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem
Can pedestrian crossing or similar signs be added to this crosswalk?
  • Washington St @ New Derby St Salem, MA 01970, USA - City of Salem
Nasty twisted metal sign post adjacent to busy tourist crosswalk.
  • Franklin St & Osborne St Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem
Can pedestrian crossing or similar signs be added to this crosswalk? Cars repeatedly drive through all three crosswalks on Franklin Street when pedestrians are there.
  • Franklin St & Hayward St Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem
Can pedestrian crossing or similar signs be added to this crosswalk?
  • 314 Essex Street Salem, Massachusetts, 01970 - City of Salem

Last week ticket number 10391534 was opened, and dismissed. I am now opening it again as a 2nd person making this request. Not sure if first person was clear enough, but almost had a tragedy tonight and that is all I am trying to prevent.

With the basketball tournament going on, and tonight, Swampscott came to play Salem in baseball, people are coming to the park who aren't familiar with the area. They don't know how to get to the parking lot when they see the do not enter sign, and come in anyway. Tonight, there was a little girl on a scooter that was almost hit because she came darting out between cars. Yes, the girl should not have done that, but she wasn't expecting incoming traffic either. The last person put the picture up on the old ticket, I added just TWO example signs (only need one) that can help in this regard.

I am just trying to prevent another Ryan Brennan like tragedy, or the tragedy on Fort Ave earlier this summer. One sign.. thats all that is needed.
