City of Salem PLUS

This is a new tree planting request for the Winthrop side of 30 Prescott St. we request A Canadian Maple/Sugar Maple/Native NE Maple tree. Thank you!

I would like multiple trees planted along my street fronts of Felt St. and Claremont St.

The front grass between the sidewalk and street on the Felt side has plenty of room to fit more than two trees even with the one on the corner. Please plant more as I want to ensure our street is lined with trees.

The sidewalk on Claremont is extra wide that allows for tree boxes to be cut in. I would like a tree planted every 10ft. Maples or something fast growing if possible.

Thanks so much for reading my request. I appreciate the tree lined streets in north Salem and want to maintain that as much as possible. Trees also help slow traffic which does speed down Felt and I have two little girls I am always looking out for. My oldest loves looking for birds every morning and I know more tree would bring more birds for her to smile at!

Large apx. 8" diameter broken, hanging leader suspended over road at the corner of locust and Bay view apx. 20' off the ground

This tree on Ocean Ave has been dead for a long time and has been dropping large branches every month or two for the last year onto a house and into the road. A larger branch fell on the house next door and took out some cable lines about four or five months ago. The police and electric company came out for that occurrence. I was hoping the city could take it down, because It just dropped more branches in the middle of the road today during the snow storm and it is going to continue doing that until the whole tree falls into the road. The tree is also in the road, not on the sidewalk, pictured. Thank you for looking into this.

A major branch system fell from a public tree on 31 October (very soon after trick or treating had officially ended) and broke our window and storm window. The tree had and still has dead branches and this will likely happen again. Please trim the tree and reach out to me about our expenses. We were JUST (12 January) able to install a new storm; it was on back order for 2+ months. The storm window alone cost about $900, and we will also need to pay for a new window, the labor to replace them and elevated heating bills we have had while the window was missing. Thank you.

These tree limbs overhang my yard. Some are dead/dying and a hazard in that respect. Others are encroaching on my house/roof. I would like it appropriately/thoughtfully trimmed. There are hailstorms of acorns.

8 feet up the trunk of this diseased tree there is a 10 inch diameter hole the goes 12 inches through the trunk (about) 95% of the way through. A very large limb is about to snap off at this weak area. Damage to vehicles is certain; personal injury is highly possible. I reported this tree a long time ago and nothing has been done. An incident is now imminent.

This tree on the sidewalk of Andrew St is touching the house and our inspector and an arborist said we needed to have it trimmed by the city.

Trees along the bike path over hang the Porch area, needs to be trimmed back.
