There is no catch basin on Emerald Ave, leaving us with an iced over street that is totally unsafe. The street is left impassable for any potential emergency vehicles. Please install adequate drainage on my street. I sent a request for assistance to snow@salem.com today, but I don't know if anyone is monitoring it.

My neighbor at 22 Nichols St. Installed a sump pump I assume and the discharge pipe runs from inside the house to the edge of the sidewalk so whatever discharge water comes out across the sidewalk then down the gutter on the street. This has caused a unsafe ice buildup across my driveway and my neighbors driveway at 18 Nichols St. Is there regulations about sump pump discharge running down a city street just because of this happening? Please help it has created a unsafe situation let alone possible contaminated water running down the street. I have lived here 27 years and have never encountered this problem before

Corner of Webb St and Boardman St, potholes are growing on both sides of the catch basin, where the catch basin hits the curb. This will become dangerous. The foundation that the catch basin collar sits on will eventually wash away.

Manhole collapsed in the middle of the road. It has been sinking for some time and it is getting worse.

My next door neighbor repeatedly pumps his basement rain water onto the sidewalk which in turn runs onto my sidewalk and then freezes which I have to chop and salt. Is it permissible for him to put his sump pump on my sidewalk? I've talked to him about this in the summer and he did nothing. I have a photo I can send if needed. Thx

I know my neighbor at 4 Emerald has reached out. I’m at 6 Emerald and have reach out to our ward councilor who said to contact the engineer Dave who is no longer there. The water issue is up in front of my home where the water pool as street is flat. I believe a catch basin needs to be installed further up and not in front of 5 Emerald where i noticed marking.

I know that a lot of effort was just put into fixing the drainage at the corner of Brown Street and Brown Street Ct, but the problem still persists. The catch basin needs to be lowered a couple of inches and the surrounding pavement needs to be sloped towards the basin.
