Street light has been out for several weeks. The others on our block were fixed, but the one in front of our house and the one directly west are still out. This is a safety hazard for my family as well as others who walk by. This needs to be repaired before Christmas Tree Lane starts. We have people parking on our block and walking down to the other side of High street every night from early December and New Year's Day.

Someone stopped by and placed masking tape over the port, and painted it green. I am guessing that this solution will last about six months, until the summer sun completely erodes it. Why are we using extremely low budget maintenance protocols to fix thousand dollar lamp post that are rusting from the inside out and have wires that are exposed to children that might reach into the holes?

Light post cover plate is temporarily being held in place with tape. If this is the standard methodology for securing these plates in place, then please feel free to immediately close this notification. Otherwise, I am guessing that the tape will only hold this in place until the tape is fully eroded away.

Over month ago, I reported the poor condition of historic streetlights on Pacific Avenue between Fourth and Webster Street, including historic streetlights of Fifth. The historic street lights are rusted, have graffiti and have not been repainted in decades. The reports on SeeClickFix have not even been acknowledged.
  • 2710 Fernside Blvd Alameda 94501, United States - Alameda
Light pole is broken and I tripped on the sidewalk last night. Please fix the two street lights since it is very dark in this area.

    What is the situation here?
  • 2000 Grand Street Alameda, California - Alameda
Tried calling your power outage number during the power outage. The recording kept saying that there were no power outages. Please fix that! Incorrect information is worse than no information at all.

    Downed Wire

The Public Utilities Commission codifies that Alameda Municipal Power is responsible for determining which third party the downed wires belong to, as well as for immediately notifying the third party, or removing the downed wires themselves.

Under Public Utilities Section (PUC) 767, the Public Utilities Commission requires that Alameda Municipal Power grant access to their utility poles, to cable and telephone providers.

PUC General Order 95 requires that Alameda Municipal Power is responsible for “patrol inspections” every 2 years, which include a visual inspection of utility lines and poles, to identify structural problems and hazards, which include any and all telephone and cable wires, Primary Insulators, High-Voltage Signs, Fuses, Transformers, Secondary Insulators, Secondary Racks & Wires, Pole Steps, Wood Poles, Ground Mouldings, Down Guys, and Risers. Records from patrol inspections must be retained for 10 years.

PUC General Order 95 provides that Alameda Municipal Power is responsible for the notification, reporting, and resolution of all safety hazards, including mitigating the safety hazard themselves, when the owner of the hazard can not be identified.
