Animal ShelterAcknowledged1825 Bay St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Our neighbor at 1825 Bay Street, Alameda, is raising over a dozen of chicks. It brings a lot of flies in our neighborhood. We found out that besides us, our other neighbors also ended up putting up traps to catch those flies. It causes us unable to open our windows or sliding doors, because some small ones can get through the screen door and windows.
A neighbor checked with the city, and was told that each household can only has up to 6 chicks.
Can the city please check and let the residents in 1825 Bay Street, Alameda know that they can't have that many chicks, and ask them to set the traps instead of making the neighbors to do that?
We can't even do any other cookings because of the flies.
Thanks & have a great weekend!

Animal ShelterAcknowledged2526 Buena Vista Ave Alameda CA 94501, United States - AlamedaThe property owner at 2526 Buena Vista, the woman seen here, owns a white Samoyed that she allows to defecate all over neighborhood and she refuses to clean it up (as evidenced in the photo). Multiple neighbors have spoken to her, she carries no bags. She should be fined, or have the animal revoked if she cannot care for it properly. This happens daily. o

Animal ShelterOpen1590 Fortmann Way Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaThe doors on the night drop kennels that APD put animals in after hours are not latching and closing properly. We had an incident last night that the dog got loose from the kennel and was running around. This can be dangerous for the animal and staff.

1432 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - AlamedaReally? An entire parking lot repaved and completely reaerved for the new business that serves more affluent customers at the optometrist business with a few mandatory disabled spots. The Discount City store customers are now relgated to the street. AND, my personal pet peeve, not a single bike rack in there. Really? Does the Vision Zero plan pay any attention to the availability of bike parking anywhere in this City? Maybe, but not in the budget? C'mon.

Many of the Forms + Surfaces bicycle racks throughout the Bay37 development area are loose and not securely attached to the ground. I was able to wiggle them back and forth by hand, and could probably remove them from the ground altogether with a few kicks.
This is a common issue I’ve seen with other racks from Forms + Surfaces, as well as other rack types with a small footprint and the mounting hardware hidden.
Please fix the racks throughout this development site, ideally by replacing them all with a more secure style, like basic inverted U racks using secure mounting bolts.

Bicycle Parking RequestsAcknowledged1500 Webster St Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaI'm ED of the West Alameda Business Association. Now that the streets have been restripesdd and bike lanes enhanced, we'd like to see about installing additional bike rakes along Webster. I have some funding ideas. I was told by my colleagues at Public Works to start with a request here. My email is elissa@westalamedabusiness.com. Thanks in advance
