Traffic Signals and Crossing LightsAcknowledged1001 Broadway Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaWe need to look into lengthening the green light on Otis to clear the traffic moving through this intersection Traffic at non rush hour times is backed up 3-5 blocks at this light even without the sewer lateral construction that was plaguing this interval year long At minimum testing lengthening the light in the Otis side should be examined to determine improved flow of traffic Reducing time on Broadway green lights should also be considered Let's try to solve this issue vs letting it continue on as is without examination c il,

Traffic Signals and Crossing LightsAcknowledgedPark St Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaReceived an email with the following request:
Please turn off/cover/remove the RED ARROW left turn traffic light coming down from the Park St bridge? Almost every day, some confused driver is waiting for that light to turn green, despite all the signs that there is never ever a left or uTurn at that intersection. -

Traffic Signals and Crossing LightsAcknowledged1900-1998 Sherman St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaHi, I am in standstill traffic on the intersection of Sherman and Atlantic for 15 min now, and same yesterday, I was almost late to a daycare pickup bc of this. The traffic jam goes all the way to the intersection of Challenger and Marina Village pkwy.
I appreciate the bike-ability charter, but ever since you guys narrowed Atlantic to 1 lane to allow for a bike line this intersection is a constant jam. I counted the bikes passing by and there were exactly 0 (zero) passing by. Same yesterday. This is beyond ridiculous. Hundreds of commuters late because of exactly zero bikes. Can you please do something about the traffic light intervals here? -
Traffic Signals and Crossing LightsAcknowledgedOtis Dr & Park Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaThe pedestrian right-of-way crosswalk sign at this intersection has been run over by a car. It is currently discarded on the northeast corner of the intersection.
Anything else that can be done to encourage the safety of this crosswalk would be welcomed. Can flashing lights be added here to help people cross this street?
Thank you! -

Traffic Signals and Crossing LightsAcknowledgedWebster St & Pacific Ave Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaThe traffic light to cross Webster and Pacific has multiple problems. When a pedestrian presses the button to cross Webster, it responds immediately by beginning the countdown (this is a good thing) but when cars are waiting to cross Webster it does not begin the countdown. The wait for cars is VERY long and the time allowed to cross Webster is very short before it turns red again. There are almost always 5 or more cars waiting and most of them are making a left turn onto Webster so they have to wait for pedestrians. This means at most 2 of the cars get thru the light while the other 3 or more cars are stuck waiting for the next green light which takes a really long time. It is always tempting to get out of my car and run over to the cross walk to press the button so the countdown will start to get the green light. Please adjust the sensor to start the countdown sooner when it detects a car on Pacific waiting to cross Webster. ALSO if there is a way to detect how many cars are lined up on Pacific waiting to cross Webster and lengthen the time the light stays green so the cars can actually get thru the intersection on the green light. The less important issue ... for some reason the lights were changed to give the pedestrian green about 5 seconds before the cars get a green - I assume this was deliberate to give pedestrians a head start - but many/most cars now start going thru the red light as soon as the pedestrian gets the green. I see it a lot lately and I worry that it is creating more problems than it is solving to have the 5 second difference between the green for pedestrians and the green for cars.

Traffic SignalsAcknowledgedDoolittle Dr Alameda, CA 94502, USA - AlamedaThe traffic signals aren't visible going west/north on Doolittle over the bay farm Bridge until you are right on them due to trees (on right side of the road) obscuring them. A driver does not know if the light has changed until right on top of the lights. Please cut back the trees on the right side so drivers have advanced warning of light changes. Thanks!
