City of Alameda PLUS

I see some ways that SeeClickFix implementation could be improved. Often a problem is miscategorized and gets bounced around from person to person and department to department. It would be helpful if a core group of people knowledgeable about city structure and process reviewed requests and recategorize as needed. At times, the person reporting the problem may need to be asked for clarification.

Also, it is extremely frustrating to report a problem and have the matter go on indefinitely with no follow up or communication. Again, a core group should be reviewing problems that go unresolved.

Why does the City shut down the comments section immediately after anything is reported? It's like "automatic" and then no one else can comment or add input to the request? It's not functional or productive when there might be an issue and a citizen would like to provide more details, photos, etc. without submitted a new request. Thanks.

There is a serious problem with malicious saboteurs derailing and hijacking people's requests on this site. Typically this is done by social justice warriors trying to disrupt legitimate SeeClickFix users from reporting crime in their neighborhood because they want to protect the criminals from facing legal consequences and also want to prevent us from making known their unlawful activities on this website.

Sometimes these malicious users will register multiple accounts so that they are able to use them to repeatedly close your issue and hurl insults at you without fear of losing access to the site (if one of their accounts gets suspended, they simply register another one and continue the abuse)

The site is obviously grossly lacking in basic security facilities and needs some improvements to protect users from malicious behavior like this. Please implement better security to prevent abusive users from being able to mass-register multiple accounts and freely close your issues without permission. Ideally submitters should have an option to lock their issue from being closed by non-approved parties. I don't want anyone being able to close my requests besides me and the city government.

Dear webmaster: The Daily Police Activity Log seems to have an outdated version available. When doing a search for this on the internet, I am taken to this page: https://alamedaca.gov/police/daily-activity-log … but this hasn't been updated since April 2017. But then navigating around using the website, I find a much more recent page at https://alamedaca.gov/node/5053 . Maybe you could set up a "301 Permanent Redirect" from the obsolete page so that people find the correct new page?

Please fix the FAQ section on your new site. The top-listed Google result https://alamedaca.gov/faq-page redirects to https://www.alamedaca.gov/GOVERNMENT/FAQs, which only has one link to the McKay Avenue project.

Your original FAQ page I was only able to find using the Internet Archive (https://web.archive.org/web/20170211153325/https://alamedaca.gov/faq-page). If this content is still available but at a different web location on your new site, please fix the redirect for https://alamedaca.gov/faq-page to point to that resource.

What happened to the "Homeless Encampment" category that we use to be able to choose. Now it is gone. Any reason?

Need to report growing and worsening homeless encampment under the Wilma Chan Overpass right before heading into Posey Tube. Have emailed, reported, and called the homeless hotline. No response or action.....

I live at 1147 Park Ave. We have a really nice wide straightaway that people LOVE to hit the gas on. They're hitting 40-50 mph on the straightaway. Happens all day long. Can we get a speed bump? i hate to ask but it's bad.

I don't know how to classify a noise complaint coming from the ATT building on Central and Willow. It seems like there is some sort of rooftop fan unit that makes loud noise day and night. Please direct this to the correct department. Thank you.
