Street Safety ConcernAbertaPark St & Clinton Ave Alameda, California, 94501 - Alameda
I am submitting written comments collected from our community survey of 49 residents about the Park St & Clinton Ave crosswalk. These comments capture residents’ personal experiences with close calls, unsafe driver behavior, and the need for improvements at this intersection.
This is Part 1 of 2; additional pages of comments will be submitted separately to ensure all voices are included.
We are asking the City to install pedestrian-activated crossing lights and add traffic calming for right turns from Park onto Clinton.
This location is already identified as a High Injury Intersection in the City’s Vision Zero plan, and these direct community stories reinforce the urgent need for action.

Street Safety ConcernAberta1500–1530 9th St Alameda CA 94501, United States - AlamedaThe bollards installed at Santa Clara & 9th are too far out, in the lane When turning right on to 9th from Santa Clara, we basically have to turn wide which puts us in the oncoming traffic lane
Cars drive down middle of 9th, I can see many accidents happening from these bollards -

Street Safety ConcernAbertaWest End Alameda, CA, USA - AlamedaAs you know, 8th street can get very busy with traffic and it can back up so far that cars regularly block the intersection (entrance to and exit from) Portola Ave. it can be very dangerous for bikes and cars trying pass through. a simple fix would be to paint a "Keep Clear" area on the street to discourage this blockage and promote safety for bikes and cars trying to navigate to and from Portola on to eighth

Street Safety ConcernAberta1715 Broadway Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaI drive from Oakland to Alameda at night frequently heading to/from Mastick Senior Center. The lane lines on Tilden and Lincoln are either nonexistent or hard to see at night; construction repair is responsible for some missing lines. It is very difficult to be sure that I'm in a lane or not when I can't see the lines. especially when bright car lights are coming towards you.
