Versailles Ave Alameda, California, 94501 - Alameda
Versailles and Fernside. Would love it closed like Berkeley streets. People speed from Fernside and to Fernside on Versailles at speeds exceeding 40 miles an hour. Slow Street helped minimize that. But before sliw streets it was a dangerous expressway. There are many people walking, biking, and kids playing in this area. Not to mention the school. People use this street as a speed straightaway to and from Fernside, across the island. Blocking between Fernside and Otis would eliminate that.

    1601 Broadway Alameda, California, 94501 - Alameda
Another car accident on Broadway and Lincoln again!!! We need four way stop signs or street traffic lights! I don’t feel safe crossing at that corner any more and have been walking an extra 1-2 blocks to the next traffic light. I’ve seen too many accidents since moving here two years ago. Please do something about it.

1840 Stanton St Alameda CA 94501, United States - Alameda

Please seriously consider putting either stop signs / operator operated crossing light at Stanton (x Clement) because there is a park that families with young children frequent.

But more importantly, vehicles going westbound absolutely do not see peds crossing Clement (to park / water side) due to the curvature of the road that directs the driver's vision/attention and car to the right side that totally misses the entire left side.

Please send a field tech to confirm these findings as l've driven this area numerous times and finding it to be quite dangerous.

  • Otis Elementary School - Alameda
Drivers are not stopping for pedestrians at the crosswalk (High/Fillmore). In the morning, crosswalk guards are not present when TK students arrive (by 8:45am) so there is no one to control traffic. In the late afternoon I have waited for multiple cars to stop, sometimes one direction will but the other won't. Can we have increased patrolling?

Mecartney Rd & Verdemar Dr Alameda, CA, 94502, USA - Alameda
Very dangerous intersection. I've almost been hit numerous times. Drivers do not stop for pedestrians. I've made eye contact with drivers and they keep going at a high rate of speed. Dangerous and sad. Perhaps the police could do a pedestrian crossing sting operation, or at least have more traffic stops. Something needs to be done

Mecartney Rd & Verdemar Dr Alameda, CA, 94502, USA - Alameda
Intersection of Verdemar and Mecartney is not safe for pedestrians to cross, especially the side that does not have a crosswalk. This intersection needs a crosswalk and a four way stop to force drivers to slow down. I have come close to being hit multiple times on either side but especially the side of the intersection that does not have a crosswalk and only has painted triangle flags on half. Please paint a crosswalk on the side without one and make it a four way stop. Drivers fly down Mecartney and rarely stop for pedestrians. They need to be forced to slow down.
