City of Alameda PLUS

Central Ave & High St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaI regularly take a right from central onto high street. Twice now, I have nearly been side swiped/tboned by someone trying to slip by and take a right in the bump out. The bump out absolutely needs to have a bollard installed. Half of the drivers in the city have no idea what a bump out is, and not having a physical barrier puts drivers who know the rules of the road in conflict with drivers who have no idea what they’re doing.

Clinton Ave & Park St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Very few drivers stop for pedestrians until they actually enter the crosswalk (visibility is poor, speeds are high). But then, drivers sometimes won't even notice pedestrians IN the crosswalk! I have had several near misses here, including one just last week where a had to stop with my 3-year-old-son several feet into the crosswalk because of a speeding oncoming car that didn't see us and wasn't slowing down (they ended up slamming on the breaks and then proceeded to be a jerk to us like it was our fault).
This crosswalk needs blinking lights and replaced bollards (they have all been destroyed by careless, speeding cars, probably including the one that crashed into the fire hydrant on this corner a few months ago).
