The frost line protective casing was severely damaged and shattered. The water department came out and cleaned up the shattered pieces of the casing.
The Fire hydrant was not leaking. Case closed.
Fast forward to this morning July 25, 2018
There was a fire in the area. The Fire Department could not use the hydrant. The hydrant had been shut off. You could wiggle the hydrant in its base
There was NO fire hydrant out of service tag on the hydrant. The tag was put on by the fire fighter this morning.
The water department needs to re-open the case and get the hydrant fixed and operating
