We told them there was a drain under all the mud. They stated to resolve the issue they had to put gravel on the pothole to make it an even surface. Now that with a little rain the alley gets flooded behind our house and water goes into our yard.

Cover that was previously over this hole for almost 1 year is now off of it and sitting in the middle over the street over nothing. This is huge and open for anyone to fall in. So why it would be listed as solved and closed is beyond me. It's on martin Luther king blvd and jeffreys freeway.

Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing this letter in hopes that it will inspire some tangible action to address the severity of our neighborhood safety concerns. Over the past two years we have watched the street and sidewalk embankment in front of our home crumble into ruin. We have written countless letters to our Water & Sewage department asking for assistance with an ever expanding sink hole next to our driveway. They have temporarily patched the road surface no less than half a dozen times and each time the patch (be it sand filler, tar coating, asphalt leveling etc.) lasts no more than a few days as pedestrian and vehicle traffic re-expose the person sized holes in the ground. At the time of my latest letter to the Water & Sewage department, I was informed that issues regarding the actual construction and infrastructure of the street should be taken up with name of department. I want to be clear: The sub level of our sewer inlet that should connect safely to the main water system is crumbling and ineffective. Simply put the infrastructure is not there. There is nothing supporting the sewer grate from underneath so it collapses every time a car rolls past. Included with this letter are pictures of the issue I have described. Our street is home to dozens of small children and elderly citizens who are forced to navigate this unsafe terrain on a daily basis. We are asking that our city and its name of department do their duty and protect residents from the dangers of unsound infrastructure that has the immediate and dire potential to cause harm to people and damage to property.
