City of Dunwoody PLUS

The crossing light has been out for about 6 months. I've seen crews there fixing it, but it has never been fixed. It is very dangerous. Cars get up some speed through there and they don't pay attention and I'm going to get run over.

The signal timing at the intersection of Shallowford Rd and Pernoshal Ct is inadequate for the volume of traffic it serves. There is only one exit lane for both left and right turns, you have to wait up 4-5 minutes for a green light, and the the green light often isn’t long enough to allow all of the cars waiting in line to leave before the light changes back to red. And when there are large commercial trucks waiting in line, even fewer cars can get through the light. It’s causing significant backups for drivers exiting Pernoshal Ct, which serves a public park, medical facilities, and residential neighborhoods. I’ve seen some cars drive into the opposing lane on Pernoshal Ct to skip the line and turn right. Please look into better light timing before there’s a serious accident.

Dunwoody Nature Center light is triggered by no car at 9:15pm Why?? Please fix. I saw another request about this.

Over the past week, I have witnessed multiple vehicles and a bicyclist run the red light on North Peachtree Road northbound, creating a serious safety hazard. I have personally been nearly struck twice, and I have seen another near-miss involving a different driver. This raises concern about whether there is an issue with the traffic signal itself or, if not, a lack of enforcement for traffic flowing from I-285 toward the Kingsley neighborhood. Vehicles are frequently entering the intersection at high speed after the Peeler Road light turns green. I respectfully request a review of this intersection and consideration of increased enforcement or signal adjustments to improve safety before a serious accident occurs.

The cross walk has been out most of last year to this day. Again today, a truck was blowing his horn at me as a stood on the crosswalk waiting for the other lane to clear or come to a stop. I waved to the truck and continued when it cleared, and then the driver screamed cuss words at me as he went on. I'm going to get killed at this crosswalk. And no one will fix it. He likely didn't realize it was a crosswalk because of no blinking lights. And then he got mad for me trying to cross. Some day someone will get mad and choose just not to stop.

Side street detection has a constant call when no vehicles or pedestrians are present. Reported to signal engineer on March 23 and issue is still present.

Poorly timed to allow southbound traffic. As soon as we get green light at Hammond we get stopped at this light and the next one too.

The pedestrian crossing signal is not working. Pressing the button does not cause it to light.

The light at the intersection of Shallowford Rd. and Pernoshal takes at a minimum 3 minutes and at most, more than 5 minutes, to turn from green to red. To allow the traffic from Pernoshal Ct. to make a right or left turn. This intersection also serves Emory patients and employees at that intersection, including residents, and those who utilize the park (i.e. the trail that leads to Brookrun Park). An example was the morning rush hour on 2/4 at 7:30. There were at least 9 cars waiting to turn and due to the length of the red light, cars were forced to make a right turn. It was more than 5 minutes before the light turned green. The average time for a light in the U.S. should only take between 1-2 minutes, 30 seconds if it's in in a rural area. Please update the light duration because it is going to cause accidents in the future as people are forced to make right hand turns and making a U-turn right after it, which I've seen plenty of times.

Left turn from Winters Chapel road to Dunwoody Club Drive doesn’t have an arrow. Traffic backs up for several cycles to turn left.
